Anonymous Coward User ID: 24568749 United States 12/03/2014 12:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The value of the US dollar is determined in large part by the fact that oil is sold in US dollars. If that trade shifts to a different currency, countries around the world won't need all their US money. The resulting sell-off of US dollars would weaken the currency dramatically. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35101604 So here's an interesting thought experiment. Everybody says the US goes to war to protect its oil supplies, but doesn't it really go to war to ensure the continuation of the petrodollar system? The Iraq war provides a good example. Until November 2000, no OPEC country had dared to violate the US dollar-pricing rule, and while the US dollar remained the strongest currency in the world there was also little reason to challenge the system. But in late 2000, France and a few other EU members convinced Saddam Hussein to defy the petrodollar process and sell Iraq's oil for food in euros, not dollars. In the time between then and the March 2003 American invasion of Iraq, several other nations hinted at their interest in non-US dollar oil trading, including Russia, Iran, Indonesia, and even Venezuela. In April 2002, Iranian OPEC representative Javad Yarjani was invited to Spain by the EU to deliver a detailed analysis of how OPEC might at some point sell its oil to the EU for euros, not dollars. This movement, founded in Iraq, was starting to threaten the dominance of the US dollar as the global reserve currency and petro currency. In March 2003, the US invaded Iraq, ending the oil-for-food program and its euro payment program. There are many other historic examples of the US stepping in to halt a movement away from the petrodollar system, often in covert ways. In February 2011 Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), called for a new world currency to challenge the dominance of the US dollar. Three months later a maid at the Sofitel New York Hotel alleged that Strauss-Kahn sexually assaulted her. Strauss-Kahn was forced out of his role at the IMF within weeks; he has since been cleared of any wrongdoing. War and insidious interventions of this sort may be costly, but the costs of not protecting the petrodollar system would be far higher. If euros, yen, renminbi, rubles, or for that matter straight gold, were generally accepted for oil, the US dollar would quickly become irrelevant, rendering the currency almost worthless. As the rest of the world realizes that there are other options besides the US dollar for global transactions, the US is facing a very significant – and very messy – transition in the global oil machine. Strauss-Kahn was not just forces to resign. He was jailed for months in New York, with common criminals. His jail photo was all over the televisión and print press. He was shamed and humiliated, roughed up and likely raped. For making a suggestion. For sharing an idea. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65462095 So plain that so many people just ignore it.. Call me simplistic, but here's a thought... A prudent householder cuts their cloth according to their means. Why can't the governments of the US/UK/their friends cut their cloth according to their means? That is, stop borrowing to fund aggressive excursions, stop funding unproductive regimes, stop encouraging debt.... 'Productive', as any good householder knows, means nurturing, rearing, contributing to the health of the householder's wards (their family) so that they are able to contribute to the common wealth. (Definition:common weal = shared welfare/health/good). With a household full of healthy, happy family, the household is far more able to creatively generate healthy work and healthy income. A nation full of healthy, happy people will be more creative and able to generate healthy work and healthy income. Call me simplistic. But this IS the only way economies - whether household or national - can ever work sustainably. Correct. But "They" don't want that happy horseshit. "They" want to wear the boots that stamp on human faces, forever. It's all about ultimate POWAH! Welp, we all know what happened to King Midas.... this is precisely the end that 'they' are chasing. It can end no other way for 'them'. |

Is major action planned for these areas while the peeps are zoned out ? ********************** " oh wow man, did you just see that ?" "yeah man, that shit was like, straight out of 'call for duty 13' pass me the box of fruit loops and spark up a bowl dude" "hey, did you hear that?" " yeah man, what the fuck was that ?" " I don't know man, but all the houses up the block are wasted" " lol, fucking sweet, here, hit this and crank up the tunes" " dude, this shits the bomb" ************************ Where it will be of most importance, most of the masses will be shit faced or asleep when the SHTF ! . Wrong. Cannabis is curative, purifying, and helps you think more clearly and cognitively. It helps shed the many cumulative scales of filth that have been forced on the masses to block our spiritual and mental acuity. Don't believe the propaganda. Fluoride, GMOs, mainstream media, chemical pesticides, alcohol, processed sugar, and pharmaceuticals have made people blind, stupid, and robot-like, easily controlled by evil forces. Cannabis melts all this away and makes you a real human again--when used properly, of course. Moses smoked cannabis, I believe. It was called cana-bosum back then and he used it to commune with God. Not that I condone pot smoking or that I use it myself, because I don't, and the cannabis of today is far far more potent and full of hormones and other things that make much different than even the cannabis smoked 50 years ago. This super potent hydroponic stuff is the devil's own brew, and I wouldn't recommend it to be used by anyone at all. As a matter of fact, I would recommend abstaining from the use of all drugs and alcohol during this day and age, even prescription drugs like amphetamine based drugs and benzodiazepines as they are designed to make your brain worse, not better. No drugs, no alcohol, no TV, get plenty of exercise and sunlight. That's what I would recommend right now, even though I know you probably don't want to hear that. That's a fair assessment. But that's also why I said "when used properly," i.e. at amounts and doses far, far lower than what what most "stoners" and other abusers use. The power is in the subtlety derived from small amounts, and particularly those strains that are balanced between THC and CBD, which I believe can be used for good to promote focus, eliminate distractions, relieve brain "fog," and basically help reset the brain to think more slowly and deeply rather than be constantly rattled around by television, social media, and everything else in this fast-paced, increasingly non-human world. Each person is unique, and so is each cannabis strain. There is some good there, but you're probably right, most of what is being dispensed at the approved shops is probably not the good stuff. |
