Quoting: Seer777 The 'Dark Passenger' and how and why and with what furiousity, it is triggered. The desire for, when one sees themselves or another 'wronged'. It seems many sooth themselves believing God will sort it out. And I have utilized this same reasoning countless times. But sometimes it seems like the dark just keeps pounding and the light fades... The light is always there. That's one of the cruel aspects of life sometimes and one of its greatest blessings. Sometimes you can be so far from it you'll never reach it in time to stop what is chasing you in the dark from catching you and you know it. But your eyes and heart seek it to the end just the same. Is not a form of justice/revenge our modern penal institutions? Societal revenge. Yes. But more like 'personal reaction' to. For example, I believe it was 2 evening ago a thread popped up regarding a 3 y/o child being hung upside down and beaten to death. The responses I read on page one, will demonstrate exactly what I am talking about. Where is the line? I don't want to read that thread. Ill take your word on it. I can imagine. The line is one of those ever evolving questions we struggle with individually and as a society... it seems there is no other way than to treat each case individually. It seems to me the line from a civilized perspective is where the perpetrator never wants to do it again and is forced into some kind of remorse for their actions if none is present. Also you want them to be an example for ppl of a similar mind set to dissuade them from the same behavior. It's not a perfect system but it's better than all out eye for an eye. Yes. I just read part of the first page. Then hoped it would fall off the 'Front page'. I think it went as far as it did, due people feeling the need to express the rage they felt regarding. So as, said headline did not 'ruin their day', make them feel like 'punching a wall', or utter hopelessness in the human race as a whole. Venting. But the venting was so very dark. For such a crime, is it justified? Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Indignation: Anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment. It is not a consciously managed system. The system decides, acts and then informs you. Its rational prefrontal regions play a subsidiary role in decision making, unless consciously empowered through self awareness. The lower level systems within the brain contain an emotional network, which can envelop one in indignation, convincing one of the foul intentions of one's opponent. The impulses in this network manipulate moods and tense muscles, carrying people on a negative path. Emotional abuse can take many forms, including using economic power to control, threatening to leave, degrading, belittling, continually criticizing, name calling, or shouting. Any emotion has three components: 1) physiological changes (e.g., acceleration of heart rate) 2) behavioral response, such as a tendency to escape from or stay in contact with whatever is causing the emotion, and 3) a subjective experience, such as feeling angry, happy, or sad [link to facts.randomhistory.com] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 61704976 United States 11/10/2014 03:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The article provided no definition for self aware, yet hung all its assumptions for the various forms of self righteous indigence on it. It postulated on intuition as a subset of emotional response, and addressed it as a blinder when reacting to an emotional indignation response. It also provided a false context as to what intuition is. "Such memories are stored in the context of experienced emotions. Intuition is the ability to extract a single contextual memory from this astronomically large data store through a process of instant elimination. ***Intuitive elimination works for the whole system. When an animal chooses to drink, its urge to eat grass is inhibited. Intuition acts in context.*** Emotions trigger focused behavior strategies by inhibiting alternate views." Intuition is for a better analogy, a pre-neural reflection for pre-occurrence. How an intuition can blind or bind you to an option that has yet to occur is misleading. After reading the entire article, which carried no citations, the article skillfully introduced interesting if not questionable conclusions into a mix of quasi scientific sounding postulations. In other words it has the aura of disinformation. For what purposes that such disinformation should be disseminated, one must make their own conclusions. |
