Desire for Revenge
What is this Darkness that lays dormant until triggered?

Why is it soothed by thoughts of violence, whether acted on or not?

Do we all carry what Dexter called, his 'Dark Passenger'?

Is Revenge ever apt?

Are we all balanced on the precipice of potential violence, if triggered?

I have asked that question several times.

Where is the line between justice and revenge? When is it crossed?

Often in the Mind.

'Hasty reaction' without though often is, regardless if triggered by anger or not.

I think you will be confronting your own demons regarding, soon enough.

Feelings of being 'led on' or 'betrayed' can produce thoughts and actions of great violence one would not believe themselves necessarily capable of.

I think thoughts of revenge are often entertained when thinking of pedophiles.

Why do we sooth ourselves with thoughts of pedophile 'justice', being repeated 'prison rape'?

No problem. I base it on the four blood moons of 14/15. All lining up with God's holydays, the writing is on the wall. And yes, Satan is always there in our minds trying to tempt us to transgress the holy eternal law and covenant. That is where the war is fought. Blessings on those who honor that law and covenant and it's many commandments and curses on those who disobey it. That is God's promise to us. Be well.

Renvenge is a self distructive urge. Your best bet is to live and let live. I have tried (semi-successfully) to curb the urge for more than twenty years. I rarely seek revenge myself, but I still feel good when someone that wronged me is served a dose of karma.

Revenge is often an emotional release for being unable to deal with ones own failures and inadequacies. It culminates when one "perceives" justifiable reasons to proceed with their intended actions. It is often an action that may place the offender in jeopardy themselves.

Re: Desire for Revenge
Everyone's different. Most people will feel worse after they have taken some kind of revenge.

Others are not satisfied unless the offender knows that he/she is responsible for the revenge.

Still others are not satisfied with revenge unless they witness the offender feeling the revenge.

Then there's the problem of the person you take out your revenge on who feels it isn't justified, and they come back at you keeping the cycle going.

For myself - revenge - never. I don't have the desire. I understand I would not feel better and believe that things will be justified some way in the end.

Of course I realize there are extraordinary circumstances that I have not been faced with, that could possibly break me.

I see what you are saying.

However, we can all be triggered to feel the desire for revenge. The thought of someone hurting 'children' does it for most.

If it is rather a 'foreign feeling', as in not experienced, is one more or less likely to enact revenge for a perceived wrong?

Does feeling said, give one more tools to enact self control?
