Without a free press we're done for. I have really raised my eyebrows at the lack of reporting on this Ottawa attack & the Quebec killing, too. No one has even thought of interviewing the surviving soldiers who were allegedly on the scene at both places. WHY? And why is the press satisfied to let the police change their stories on the locations of the other shots fired (allegedly) and the presence of multiple shooters. Why is no one looking for the mother, or covering the fact that she is one of many under investigation at the Immigration & Refugee Board?

When I asked the question "What happened to the OTHER honour guard at the War Memorial" I had people pipe up to tell me that he ought to be left alone. WTF? He's an eye witness to what's being called a terror attack... he is an eye witness to a murder at the very least. We need to hear from him.

Shooter's mother WORKS for the board, she is not being investigated by it. Second, the Argylls are a reserve unit. They are a great bunch of guys, regular guys with regular jobs and regular lives. They need time to grieve just as much as anyone else does. Cirillo's partner that day was also one of his best friends.

Well, law enforcement and intelligence agencies undoubtedly are aware where homegrown 'terrorists' are most likely to first manifest, in Canada's case, Quebec. Ottawa is also an obvious choice and is conveniently located on the cusp of Quebec and Ontario, not far from two other 'radical' hotbeds, Toronto and Montreal, two metro areas with huge immigrant populations, including many Muslims, 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation Middle Easterners. This guy was in-fact 1/2 Arabic (I assume Muslim) descent (father is Libyan). He apparently wasn't raised in that culture, attended Catholic schools (his mom is some hotshot in the federal government and isn't of Middle Eastern or Muslim descent), etc. But he appears to be a spoiled, privileged brat who got involved in drug abuse and petty crime. He fits perfectly the profile of someone who would 'convert' and identify with 'terrorists'.

BTW: WTF is up with his mom? She sounds like a bitch, no wonder he turned out the way he did.

US mainstream media is bad, Canadian mainstream media is worse, imho. Whenever ANYTHING controversial occurs in Canada, Canadian media seems to almost shutdown as far as reporting important facts and angles. Another thing is many Canadian media outlets will block commenting regarding ANYTHING remotely 'controversial'. This is almost never done on US sites. It's pretty much a free for all. I find reading or even watching or listening to most mainstream Canadian media regarding 'sensitive' issues very frustrating.

i completely agree. it's very bad - much worse than the US. MUCH worse. And by and large I don't' think people realize it. Typical boiling frog thing. This is where a university education in something other than a 'professional' discipline comes in handy. At the very least people who have been exposed to older profs in history, sociology etc have been exposed to the fact that there are plenty of events out there that 'we never learned in grade school.'

A lot of people might disagree with me on that, and I'm not saying you need a university education to figure this shit out, but it helps if you get into some good courses. It can be eye opening.

This same Benjamin Fulford "avatar" is a religious occultist, with a belief system hinging on self-proclaimed paranormal abilities. He is hardly objective. Follow his posts for a few months and find out the hard way.

Also note that he is likely a psychological warfare agent, used to flush out wannabe radicals within various geopolitical spectrums, for unknown handlers, within NATO ranks. The idea that someone of this persuasion would free float and somehow make a living, is convincing enough for me.

CSIS powers beefed up under new bill tabled by Steven Blaney
Bill C-44, as CBC News reported earlier, amends the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act to:
-Give CSIS more powers of surveillance "to more effectively investigate threats to the security of Canada."
Note: Conspiracy Theorists being included in this board definition of "threats" as stated at the UN by David Camron just a few weeks ago. This is basically the ability to target, investigate & arrest a so called "conspiracy theorists" who has not caused any crime.
-Give Canada's spy agency explicit authority to operate "within or outside Canada." This would allow the agency to share information on suspected Canadian terrorists abroad with members of the so-called "Five Eyes" group of countries — namely the U.S., U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
Note: Basically a merger with NSA/DHS (among others) allowing for much broader information sharing between the five eyes. Through this DHS could relay completely made up info to CSIS about a person in Canada, and CSIS would have to take the info as credible fact without question.
-Give "greater protection" to confidential sources without having to identify them in court proceedings, even to the judge.
Note: The ability for DHS to make up evidence against someone, relay it to CSIS, and the source of the "evidence" (DHS for example) doesn't need to ever be disclosed, even to the judge (and by judge they really mean 3 person tribunal, no jury involved).

The proposed bill would also:
-Allow for some exceptions, including disclosure of informants' identities "if the human source and the [CSIS] director consent to the disclosure of that information." The bill lays out the process by which a judge could order that an exception be made.
Note: The ability to selectively name informants identities when it suites their purpose (basically for the few legit arrests they will allow more info to be known (to add credibility/trust to their cause), but for the shady as fuck stuff this type of informant info will not be disclosed).
-Make it an offence to divulge any information that would lead to the disclosure of the identity of a CSIS employee "who was, is or is likely to become engaged in covert operational activities."
Note: The Ability for CSIS to legally carry out false flags using CSIS employees, due to the fact that it would be literally illegal to say that the terror suspect was working for CSIS even if it was a fact.

Today's proposed legislation has not been altered following Wednesday's assault on the National War Memorial and Parliament's Centre Block, CBC News has learned.
The ultimate goal of the bill is to give authorities greater power to deal with some of the Canadians already on a watch list who are considered most dangerous, sources say.
