Teal Pumpkin Project
[link to ksn.com]

The Teal Pumpkin Project is simple. If you will be handing out any non candy treats like the glow bracelets or a coloring book then place a teal blue pumpkin in your window or yard (so it is visible from the street) to let trick or treaters with allergies know it is safe to trick or treat at your house.

My first thought was... a big grumpy cat no. I am not doing this. I am tired of catering to other peoples diet needs. Generations of people with food allergies have found a way to get by, why can't these kids.

Then I thought about how much fun all kids would have trying to find houses with a teal pumpkin. It would be like a scavenger hunt.

I have already purchased 50 Halloween coloring books, 50 packs of Halloween crayons and 50 pumpkin bags to put them in. (got them on sale back in June for $5.00 each pack of 50.) Now all I have to do is put up a teal pumpkin. (I also have 4 cauldrons full of candy)

Target and the Dollar stores sell those glow bracelet things with 10 or 15 in pack for a dollar. For the price of a bag of candy, a piece of paper with a teal pumpkin colored on it and a little time you can make a child smile.

I am not asking you to participate; I am simply sharing the information with you. What you choose to do with it is your business.

There was house that my kids loved to go to every Halloween. They did not hand out candy; they handed out stuffed animals.

The lady across the street gave a $1.00 bill to every trick or treater. The kids loved her.

No candy doesn't have to be a bad thing.

I suggested having both.

Here is a link to the food allergy website. It has things you can download and print. (like a non food treats poster)

I planned on giving out tricks instead of treats this year, I saw some Halloween tattoos and sticker packets to replace candy. My house is blue, they'll figure it out.
When you find a piece of shit along side the road and you poke it with a stick, what do you expect to find inside of it, gold?
No, it's just going to stink more.

You are supposed to leave your porch light on to signal to trick or treaters that you have treats for them. If it is by the porch light it is easy to see.

Maybe there are some plastic pumpkins with light inside to make it glow teal.

Can't put a candle in that and the kids will think it's full of candy, but it will be empty, hahaha, more tricks!

We put up amber colored lights and corn stalks with scarecrows. We put solar spotlights on the scarecrows and they work quite nicely.

I suppose one could put a solar spotlight on a painted pumpkin. (for those with an aversion to porch lights)
