Re: October 27, 2005, the day my world was turned upside down forever.
OP, it's difficult to even know what to say...saying I'm so sorry seems so tripe in light of your experience. Of course, it is every parents greatest fear, losing a child before themselves.

I honestly don't know where the strength would come from if this happened in my life, I don't know how I would go on. I can't imagine the anger you must feel at the one who took her from you...and from her children. So many lives destroyed and for what!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers if you don't mind, it's really all any of us can do. We can't walk in your shoes, who of us would want to? But we certainly can admire you for walking in them the way you have.

May God keep you and bless you.

Sorry for your loss. You are stonger than I would be if it had been one of my kids. I hope posting here makes the pain go away, at least for a while.

Man label this as NSFW. I'm tearing up hard right now. I could never imagine having to bury your child. That is something NO parent should ever have to do. My best friend was murdered along with his girlfriend for wrong place wrong time. I've lost friends to car accidents, natural illness, and other things, but to be murdered will hold your heart heavy for life.

So many lives destroyed and for what!
 Quoting: Truthserum

Those kids didn't have their lives destroyed though. They undoubtedly had and will have unimaginable pain. But pain is the forge of great people, let me tell you. My wife lost her mother at a young age, and lost her father soon after to alcoholism. She raised herself from about 12. She is the greatest woman I've ever met, and she is an incredible mother. Her lose has taught her the value of family and love and sacrifice and vigilance and self control and personal responsibility and everything else it takes to make it in this world.

And to op too, he isn't letting this destroy his life either. I hope he channels his lost love for his daughter into those kids, shows them love, and teaches them all the hard things in life that a man has to teach to his kids.

As a parent, I cannot imagine the horror you experienced - and the tremendous grief you still experience.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your beautiful daughter.

I have a 26 year old daughter and 2 grandson's ages 2 and 5. I worry about them daily. Not because I have any concerns but because they are so very precious to me.

Reading your story I immediately started feeling sick and sad as I could tell where it was going. By the end I had tears running down my cheeks. That would be my worst nightmare. I'm so sorry you had to live it my friend

Thanks for sharing OP and may God always be by your side.

My sincerest condolences to you, OP. You've experienced something that is the fear of every father. I'm glad you have found the hope and relative peace to carry on. There's so much pain in this world, but as a Christian, I believe the promise that one day this world will be transformed and a new heaven and a new earth are coming. Good does triumph over evil in the end and the enemy's time is short.

Very sorry for your loss there aren't enough words to express
anyone's feelings in this situation. I lost my daughter in 1987 to a suicide and my 18 year old son in 1995 to heroine overdose they were wonderful children and I can't handle fathers day at all. again Very sorry for your loss and your family and your daughter are in my prayers . God Bless .

My sympathy, OP.

Lost my handsome and bright youngest son in
February 2013 to a senseless act of violence.

Guess we have something in common.
No other way to go but forward.

But, I also realized that life must go on and if I let my grief
destroy me I'd be just as much a victim as her.
