Or get yourself a cheap aluminum turkey baking tray and set that out just to see. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49261561 Thank you. This little bitch has two to choose from; she has been around (we rescued her from the local shelter) for at least a year. She knows the rules and she's just being a bitch. User ID: 61658334 United States 10/19/2014 01:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe there is something to the brand or type of cat litter that she does not like? If it is scented litter, try using unscented. The chemical fragrances they use in cat litter can cause allergies in cats, oftentimes showing up as ear infections. The fact that she is going to the bathroom at the doorway of the litterbox shows that she knows it is where she is supposed to go, but she doesn't like going into it. Is it a covered box with a lid on it? Or is it just a pan? If it is scented cat litter with a lid covering it, the chemical fragrance will be more overwhelming than if it is just a pan without a cover. Try using the brand "Scoop Away, Super Clump, Unscented." It doesn't have those chemical fragrances in it. |

Anyway it is a sign of stress so getting annoyed will only make her worse. She is a CAT for heavens sake so she is doing what cats do when stressed. Trying to make a big mark about what is her territory. She feels scared and threatened. She needs to feel secure. I would also put a litter tray in the hallway for the time being. |

It's been the usual cat crap. You know. Nothing nasty or bloody. Quoting: C. 11118 The female (only one of three) has chosen to poop on the floor at the doorway of the litterbox for two weeks, at least. We have wood floors, but that's beside the point. We are getting tired of it and we've tried everything. Any worthwhile suggestions? Keep filthy animals outside. Also you must never build houses, sow seed or plant vineyards; you must never have any of these things, but must always live in tents. Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah..." |

Then I accidentally let the cat outside and we live in a high coyote area of the southwest. I just feel terrible about accidentally letting the cat get out by leaving 2 doors wide open for an hour. It's just eating me up inside. Anyways, my carpet is immaculate. |

The one who is pooping who has been there a year is obviously stressed by the addition of the new cat into her litter box space. Do not shove her nose into it. That will not help. I had a problem with my two cats not using their litter boxes. It turns out they did not want to share a litter box. As soon as I got them their own litter boxes, everything was fine. Get each cat its own litter box. If that doesn't work, get each cat two litter boxes, one for pooping and one for peeing. Last Edited by Half Past Doom on 10/19/2014 01:40 AM |

Our other cat, who is in his teens is fine with the new kitty. The little bitch is way younger than him and seems to be trying to make a statement. For those of you that asked, here is the deal: They all have one covered and one uncovered box. Each are filled with wood pellets. (You might educate yourselves to the benefits of wood pellets over commercial cat litter, but I won't even go there right now). They have their own room with their own space and SHE HAS NO REASON FOR BEING SUCH A BITCH!!!) |
