is the tsunami warning on or off?

Quake was felt everywhere in Honduras, Guatemala, Niaragua, Costa Rica and El Salvador.

I'm in the capital of Honduras, we are ok thanks to God.

If that is confirmed, one more 6+ somewhere else and I will officially soil my loins.

I know they issued a Tsunami warning for the region and they generally do this after a quake of this magnitude, however for a real Tsunami to be generated, the quake must register at least an 8.0 or higher.
That being said, if the USGS site is correct and there were two quakes at almost the same time, I don't know how that would translate.
I'm interested in seeing the prelim reports to determine if it was a subduction break or transitional. My guess is it was a subduction. They are lucky that the quake moved the way it did because if it were a full break and and the crust didn't get impacted momentarily, we very well could have witnessed a 8.5 or higher.
Basically speaking, this quake wasn't done moving, got caught and the force of the movement continued until the energy was released again.

There is a "Major earthquake soon" thread every other day, so obviously some are bound to coincide from time to time. No one can predict earthquakes, not even the GLP future tellers, who also don't really predict the future. It's called random luck of the draw, which is easy when there's a post making random presumptions regarding something every 10 minutes.
