This is like celebrating welfare. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44601534 Thanks for watching. Sorry you didn't like it. How is a group of small town country boys with a big hearts celebrating welfare? For the touchy feely crowd, this is a heartwarming gesture. To someone who sees truth, this is a kid pushing another kid past kids who won't stop him for an empty gesture. Pandering for pandering's sake. |

Pandering for pandering's sake. The truth you see is ruthless, robotic, and meaningless. The truth that matters is the memory that was created for the kid, his family, the players (both teams), the parents of all those players, the coaches, the crowd, anyone watching in the crowd, and anyone watching on TV/Internet (who actually has a heart). In a world with not much to smile about, this 'pandering', has created a memory without end. And learn wtf pandering means when you get a chance. "Sir, are you classified as human?" "Negative. I am a meat-popsicle." ~Corbin Dallas |

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm sure it was a great moment for them and a positive story... But it's not like the boy accomplished anything on his own. It's pandering. Accommodation. Catering. Pick your word, it is what it is. |

That's my feelings too, but it might not be a popular opinion. Two opposing teams arranged it themselves and most people didn't know until it happened, that it had been arranged. Thought it was really awesome for them to do it. |

The sad part is that it came with everyone's compliance, rather than overcoming and accomplishment, which would be infinitely more rewarding. |

He deserves a chance to experience life, just sucks it will probably always be like this, with everyone's assistance. I know he can't play football, but maybe there's something he will accomplish on his own, and I will be extremely happy for him when that happens. |

To stop the rivalry and name calling and come together to make someone happy. He made them feel good about themselves, and the parents feel good about all of them. He brought people together in a few minutes of happiness and love. More than many will ever accomplish. He's been to his brothers games and loves the game. He finally got a chance to do what he's probably done many times in his mind. He made a touchdown. They all deserve trophies. |

It doesn't surprise me these two teams came together to fulfill a handicap kid's dream. I've watched my three boys go from flag football to grade and middle school, to JV and Varsity football in high school, and with the rare exception of a shitty coach at one school or another, those kids could pound on each other and then lend a hand to help them off the ground and pat them on the back. We destroyed one team on the field and a week later their coach was asking my son and his quarterback to join his team for an all star team to go to state...so we accepted and they practiced together and we took second in state. Same with baseball and track and field, and now bowling I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |
