I remember at one job I worked with a judge. One day I had to hand him something and when i tried to there was a blue ark of electricity generated from my finger to his, was like a plasma lamp, huge shock....

After that he started recommending books to me, fiction, but interesting nonetheless, like we had this automatic understanding of weird commonality. A special handshake of sorts, literally.

Wow! Have you tried to do it purposefully?

My radio in my truck just blew out 2 weeks ago or so and my power locks stopped working too (!) right after a particularly emotional Radiohead song and nearly being smashed by an oncoming ambulance due to said song blaring too loudly... :-(

Whenever I drive by or walk by a street lamp, it goes out. Sometimes turns on. It has happened so frequently that there's no chance that it goes out "coincidentally." So I googled it one day and found others had the same thing happen.

It happens also with some other stationary lights. It's perplexing because no one can give an empirical reason why.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63552209

It took me years to notice that this happens to me more frequently when I am emotionally charged. It took me some years more to discover that this is part of having rhesus negative blood. A poll here showed GLPers are 3 to 4 times likelier to have this blood type than average; only crossbred animals (mules, for example) show this in the animal kingdom, i.e. it implies that those with rhesus negative blood are cross breeds between humans and, insert whatever you think reasonable here (annunaki, to my mind). That's a short summary of many years of interest in what the OP is posting about.

WOW!
I've experienced a blue arc before, but never between people!!

Once, starting up my car, I saw a blue arc from under the hood and it immediately drained the battery and all of the windows rolled half-way down and stopped working. Once I got it jumped, most of the lights were out (I think was just a fuse, 10+ yrs ago) but the window motors never came back. The only one that worked was the roof!

The latest was in my new place, a few months ago, a particularly emotional moment on glp and a vigorous click to the 'shutdown' and there was a blue arc, outside up, near the pole out back and we lost power for an hour or so. I think other than the neighbors behind me, only one on my street - directly next door lost power. Probably a logical conclusion for some of that.

Well, actually we're electric or electromagnetic "machines", and I guess some people has a powerful "battery" inside. Stopping watches or blast lightbulbs is relatively usual. Of course the moods or emotional disturbances can be a strong influence for that kind of phenomena or electromagnetic telekinesis. Other people breaks glasses at distance unintentionally.

I've a friend who says that she simply fries keyboards and PCs (it's an expensive collateral effect, I guess).hf

It always happens in my recurring bad dreams.
Like when i turn on the lights, the bulbs would be dying after a few secs.
Then I keep swithing the knobs, in the hope to get back the lights.
But that always fail and scared of the darkness I be awaken.

The heart is the most powerful generator of electromagnetic energy in the human body, producing the largest rhythmic electromagnetic field of any of the body’s organs. The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. This field, measured in the form of an electrocardiogram (ECG), can be detected anywhere on the surface of the body. Furthermore, the magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 5,000 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain, and can be detected a number of feet away from the body, in all directions, using SQUID-based magnetometers (Figure 12). Prompted by our findings that the cardiac field is modulated by different emotional states (described in the previous section), we performed several studies to investigate the possibility that the electromagnetic field generated by the heart may transmit information that can be received by others.

It is like a calming, to control it that is. I think of it like a static discharge, which I guess it sorta is, you use your breathing and release it slowly. Just enough to disrupt its natural speed and direction. Like running water through a filter.( If that makes sense) That way it releases like a cloud instead of a lightning bolt.

That can be difficult while talking to someone obvi but it can be done with practice.

Any of y'all ever heard something in your house and got up quickly to investigate all ready for a confrontation and blew every light bulb you turned on along the way as soon as you flipped the switch? It just makes you rage and makes everything worse lol. (It was a drunk friend who couldn't make it home)

Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?
At the end of life, high-pressure sodium lamps (standard streetlamps) exhibit a phenomenon known as cycling, which is caused by a loss of sodium in the arc. As a result, these lamps can be started at a relatively low voltage, but, as they heat up during operation, the internal gas pressure within the arc tube rises, and more and more voltage is required to maintain the arc discharge. As a lamp gets older, the maintaining voltage for the arc eventually rises to exceed the maximum voltage output by the electrical ballast. As the lamp heats to this point, the arc fails, and the lamp goes out. Eventually, with the arc extinguished, the lamp cools down again, the gas pressure in the arc tube is reduced, and the ballast can once again cause the arc to strike. The effect of this is that the lamp glows for a while and then goes out, typically starting at a pure or bluish white then moving to a red-orange before going out.

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

This happens to everyone because it happens eventually to ALL streetlights. It is NOT a phenomenon, but it is a psychological condition to believe you are causing it.

Strange how our bodies can affect electricity. Many people are effected by wireless signals or electric towers and can become ill by it.

Yes I think that is how it works. The weak lamps are more susceptible because they can't maintain a constant strong flowing current to beat off the interference some ppl cause the lamps to experience. Most ppl just assume it's the lamp flickering out on its own and sometimes it is.

So it actually a combination of what I responded to and the phenomenon of some ppl's ability to interfere with electronics.

Yeahhh, if I hadn't been my sister's personal Circus Monkey, I don't know when I would've noticed, or started paying attention, even.

It's something though.

I'd like to add that there were 2 lights in particular that this would happen with -as a youth annd I think my interstate stories were the same ones as well..So there may be something going on with those lamps as in faulty etc that makes them more susceptible?
 Quoting: zCommonAnomaly

Yes I think that is how it works. The weak lamps are more susceptible because they can't maintain a constant strong flowing current to beat off the interference some ppl cause the lamps to experience. Most ppl just assume it's the lamp flickering out on its own and sometimes it is.

So it actually a combination of what I responded to and the phenomenon of some ppl's ability to interfere with electronics.

Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?
I remember at one job I worked with a judge. One day I had to hand him something and when i tried to there was a blue ark of electricity generated from my finger to his, was like a plasma lamp, huge shock....

After that he started recommending books to me, fiction, but interesting nonetheless, like we had this automatic understanding of weird commonality. A special handshake of sorts, literally.

Great thread OP! hf

I inadvertently shut off a tv with a blue arc once as a kid. Interesting to read that others have had similar experiences.

And I've experienced strong shocks when touching people too, an electrical exchange. Very cool experience Spazz. rose

I also experience the streetlight thing very often. Still not entirely sure what to make of it, but do very much believe that we are electrical beings living in a continuous energy soup.

One time this spring I was folding clothes fresh out of the dryer in the dark. The clothes (lots of fleece) were really charged (and the air was dry) and I ended up creating rainbow, technicolour light shows by moving the fabrics around and watching them discharge. It was really beautiful and reminded me that there is a lot more going on than meets the eye.

Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?

A good search term is Magnetocardiography.

Thank you hf

Another blue arc'r :-)

I have had shocks between people but never blue arcs.

cool2

That's very cool, technicolor laundry! I wonder if it could be recreated on camera?

I really enjoy reading other's experiences, thank you everyone. The woman that told me about SLIders is a humanities professor at St. Petersburg College - and she also has a ghost-hunting group(fwiw). Before that, other than hearing about my grandmother's strange clock/radio experiences, I had no idea that there were others..

Re: Do you experience Experience Phenomena with Electronic Devices? Are you a SLIder?
I'm able to move the pointer on my lap top by placing my pointer finger above my mouse pad without touching, not all the time but on occasion.

A young lady who is a friend of my daughter was telling me about how she was able to change traffic signals when she needed to cross a street or riding in a vehicle.

Strange how our bodies can affect electricity. Many people are effected by wireless signals or electric towers and can become ill by it.

I turn off street lamps, sometimes several all at once. Usually I am very upset when that happens. I fry electronics, the iphone was the only ohine I was abke to handle without breaking. I drain the batteries from watches and cameras, so no watch for me since. I lost my wind up one a. Long time ago. For the life of me I can not tune an antenna radio, if I out my hands near it it goes to static...if I move my hands away the static goes away gradually.

Here is my favorite, i have caught myself being able to manioukate my ipad without touching the screen. I still need to be close enough to it, but not actually touching it to activate the screen.

I'm an RH- (like another poster mentioned) so maybe there might be something to that after all.
