Much the same as these people you're referencing in your post. You are right on the money. Life has changed and people are only getting worse. If I wasn't so wise, I would say I don't blame them. Cheers OP. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63597242 Canada 10/06/2014 05:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's what this entire city is made of. Every day I start my morning by getting into an elevator where not one single person isn't on a phone. Nobody talks to anyone, let alone looks at them. Kind of breaks my heart really. I feel like some days, it's all just a lost cause. Quoting: AnonymousGirl I would speak with you, even in an elevator. Seriously, if you manage to get a conversation going with a human in an elevator full of phonebots, I suggest it be a really funny one with lots of loud boastful laughter pertaining to topics they can have absolutely no concept of. How do they get reception? Makes me wonder if it's all just an automated response and they really are not even talking to anyone on the other end, because the call was dropped and they are to self-absorbed to even notice. :) The sad thing is they probably wouldn't even notice, they are completely zoned out. I have had no choice at times to look at what they're doing because I'm squished in there and have nowhere else to look...looks like most of them are just scrolling through their phones. The one that really made me sad was when an elderly woman was part of the crowd doing the same ole thing. All hope was lost that day. ugh......................... I have yet to see that around san diego, its mostly the 15-40 age range that is constantly looking at their phones, even at the gym, it can drive me nuts sometimes. people nowadays are like droids, almost like they have lost their own identity and soul. It's everyone here, even kids that look about 8. People don't even walk their dogs without their phones around here. |

I didnt want to become like that. when I go into the gym, the store, at work, it stays in the car. I have a smartphone that was given to me, but I refuse to activate it, not to mention the NSA part of smartphones, I will refuse to be a victim of civil rights violations. society has really lost it's perspective on networking, its an aid, not a crutch. |

I was on the phone with someone from the US... and this has happened twice now...it sounded like someone picked up the phone in another room. I heard a click and then sort of an echo sound (the sound you hear when someone else in the house has picked up the phone). I am alone in here! :( |

I have a few stories to tell........ Yes I know exactly what you are talking about. Thats why it is best to speak in general terms over the phone when discussing sensitive info. The most secure way to talk is thru email using a TOR network, but I am not sure NSA has or has not cracked the TOR network yet, I know they are close. you can read more about it here..... dang it, GLP will not let me post the link..... |

I look over at women glued to theirs and their screens are nasty, filthy and greasy from their dirty fingerprints I got a Samsung slider keyboard phone cause its easier to type and text with and it doesn't get greasy. Its not for APPS, games or facebook browsing, Its good enough for me, talk and text. |

User ID: 33391356 United Kingdom 10/07/2014 06:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seriously. I just walked through the grocery store now. what a pathetic display of humanity. Everywhere I look, I see sickly inept people not caring for anyone else but themselves. Quoting: Certified nutjob Just this morning on the way to my work, I was driving beside a college and this girl was crossing the somewhat busy 2 lane road from her townhouse residence.... she came up to the solid yellow line and I thought she was going to stop to wait for me to go by (this is no cross walk btw) but no, she kept on going without looking in my direction at all. I had to really break hard (not locking up though) or I would have absolutely pulverized her. I honk as she is right in front of me. NOTHING.. no head turn, no flinch. ZOMBIE. PURE FUCKING ZOMBIE mode. (she didnt have ear buds in also). As she steps onto the curb, she quickly looks back and gives me a glean. Sad thing is this is not an isolated occurrence. There are MANY out there like her. unfucking real. this world is seriously messed up from the top down. Welcome to end game. going to be a bumpy ride!! If this is your only frustration then you're doing ok... |
