When is NASA going to do something exciting?
It seems like forever since they've done something interesting.

something forms, something emerges and

appears....

Sometimes it looks like a planet.... "

It is.

It's very exciting for bureaucrats to get billions of dollars to play around with, build bigger bureaucracies, and provide bigger paychecks to people based on their race, sex, religion, or who they play golf with.

Why hang around on the outside where it's dull. What you need to do is join up and get in on the exciting fun.

They have got to have us all drugged and dumbed down or better yet chipped and preprogramed so that they can present their next moonmen or marsmen HOAX to an unquestioning virtualviewership.

Soon since the courts ruled their wiretap records unconstitutional.

Re: When is NASA going to do something exciting?
The private sector has a few projects going that make NASA look lame....

This month, the first test run of an orbital hotel was launched and inflated.

Their company slogan:
Bigelow Aerospace:
getting you excited again about space.

I bought raffle ticket #0093 for a possible ride to the hotel when it's ready *VBS*

The people at this web site are working on the ferry system for passengers. [link to interorbital.com]

Re: When is NASA going to do something exciting?
It depends on what you define as interesting. It you mean human spaceflight, then I wouldn't hold my breath. The current return to the Moon plans are bloated beyond belief, shackled by pork barrelling considerations. I predict it will die a slow death. Private enterprise is the future of US human spaceflight. Eventually (with a new administration, perhaps) the government will see reason and start purchasing services from the space startups like SpaceX.

If, however, you mean any space activity that doesn't involve humans, then there are plenty of exciting things going on. Go look at the Mars rovers or Cassini for some stunning eye candy and revolutionary discoveries.

I'd really like to see a probe land on Europa that can drill through the ice and see if that underwater ocean really exists and if there is life in it.
