All prophecies the bible says will happen in End Times are happening or almost completed at present

8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.

"The Branch" is a messianic reference.

9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

10 In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

When Jesus comes again, the Branch, and establishes His kingdom and the iniquity will be purged in a day, and the Lord will reign.

Every man neath his vine and fig tree shall live in peace, and be not afraid.

Zechariah 4

And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

This vision would have encouraged the two leaders of the restoration community, Zerubbabel and Joshua, by reminding them of God’s resources, and it would have vindicated these leaders in the eyes of the Israelites.

Chapter 3 brought Joshua forward to encourage him, and chapter 4 does the same to Zerubbabel.

3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

The chapter contains the vision (Zechariah 4:1-5), two oracles concerning Zerubbabel (Zechariah 4:6-10), and the interpretation of the vision (Zechariah 4:11-14). It presents Israel as the light of the world under Messiah, her king-priest.

Zechariah 4

4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

The Lord reminds Joshua that he and Zerubbabel can depend on God's might, power and strength....

Zechariah 4

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

8 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Joshua and Zerubbabel can be seen as messianic types, “who as Spirit-filled men convey blessing from God to church and state, and are a type of the Messiah as Priest and King”

Their mission is to rebuild the temple - despite obstacles - will be completed.

10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Small accomplishments may not appear to be much - but added up over time can result in something magnificent.

For example - building a house. Starts out with planning.

Then getting skilled laborers and so on and so forth - until there is a mansion - where there was just dirt.

Zechariah 4

11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

The two olive trees represent Joshua and Zerubbabel

The olive trees, one standing on either side of the bowl shows human maintenance of the lamps was unnecessary since the oil flowed from the trees to the reservoir to the lamps.

What does the oil in the lamp symbolize?

Represent those who are looking for the Bridegroom (parable of the 10 vigins) to come; and the oil-filled lamps are symbolic of the Holy Spirit which lights the way before the saints.

vigins - should read virgins

Parable of the 10 virgins summary:

10 virgins all started out with oil in their lamps.

5 of the virgins let their oil burn out.

While the 5 virgins left to replenish their lamps - Jesus came and took the other virgins who were diligent enough to see they didn't run out of oil.

Moral of the story:

Without the Holy Spirit or the oil as mentioned in this parable of the 10 virgins, you are just an empty lamp. It does not matter how good the lamp looks on the outside.

We're told all obstacles that stood in Joshua's and Zerubbabel's way would be removed.

That includes the mountain that became a plain:

Zechariah 4:7 ...O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain

The mountain represents the obstacles that stood before Zerubbabel as he tried to complete the temple. The mountain became a plain; that is, the obstacles were removed, and Zerubbabel was able to complete his work on the temple

However, the work on the temple hit many snags and lagged until the Lord sent Haggai and Zechariah to encourage the people to work in earnest on the temple, and eventually it was completed.

The second temple became a symbol of devotion and obedience to those who sacrificed to build it for the Lord.

For the critics who claim "some nations are too remote to hear the gospel":

Matt 24

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

I am dissapointed that Pastor Jack Hibbs is pre-trib rapture.

But if you look at Daniel 8:23, then Ezekiel 39, and Matthew 24 there's no mistaking the antichrist does not show up until the great trib.

And yes - things will appear "relatively normal" - when the rapture happens.

Answer: yes things will appear "relatively normal" before the rapture.

All we have to ask ourselves is "why did God destroy the earth with a flood?"

Because men were unsalvageable - wicked, deceitful and irredeemable.

So it will be at the rapture.

God tell us in Matthew 24

Things will appear relatively normal - in an unsalvageable - wicked, deceitful and irredeemable world:

Marrying, drinking and have not a clue that the world is about to end:

Zerubbabel started building the temple;

he will finish it.

Chapter 5

We encounter mystery bablylon - whom we have learned much about in Isaiah.

Mainly, she was exceedingly wicked.

23...for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries (pharma) were all nations deceived.
