Today I learned -- Pieces of WTC being handed out like candy to virtually any group that wants one [incl. Afghanistan]
So yesterday there was a dedication ceremony at the fire station in front of my house. The entire street was blocked off for about a mile with vendors lining both sides -- like a sort of flea market.
From inside my house, I could hear the ceremony taking place at the station with people giving speeches and the typical patriotic music playing.

Now, there has been this incredibly annoying construction project going on for the past few weeks at the station. The sound of stone saws almost constantly from 7am to 3pm every week day. I literally could not even guess what it was going to be until yesterday morning when the final additions were made.

Here are some photos: [link to imgur.com]

When I had asked one of the rescuers what the monument was, he told me that it was an actual beam from the WTC, and that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are sending pieces to basically anybody that wants one (city agencies and non-profit groups). He then told me that there is a glow-in-the-dark star for each victim embedded in the bricks.

Anyway, this isn't the main point of my thread.

This morning, I thought more about what he told me -- that pieces were basically being shipped out all over the country.

After one google search for "9/11 memorial beam" -- on just the front page, there were four links pertaining to memorial unveilings this month

@ Pittsboro, N.C. on September 6th 2014

@ HACC Harrisburg on September 11th 2014

@ Tacoma, Washington on September 11th 2014

@ Doylestown, PA (article posted 9/28/14, no information about when the memorial is to be unveiled)
 Quoting: [link to patch.com]

@ Mantua, NJ -- "A 200-pound stone from the Pentagon will be set temporarily near the fragment of the World Trade Center pending a permanent plan to affix it to the memorial. The stone will be removed afterward and placed in storage."

@ Evesham, NJ -- "Mayor Randy Brown, council members and the Evesham Fire-Rescue will dedicate the new 9/11 Memorial in a noon ceremony outside the Main Street Firehouse. The monument will be 16 feet high and features a 1,000-pound beam from the World Trade Center.

The 13-foot twisted steel piece will stretch skyward and sit on a base nearly three feet high.

"Mayor Randy Brown waited to get a piece of World Trade Center rubble. You will be forced to look up at it, just as people looked up at the World Trade Center," said Councilman Robert DiEnna."

Now, sure, doesn't necessarily seem that strange that several places around the country are obtaining pieces of the WTC and Pentagon to use as memorials.

What makes me lean more toward thinking that this is worth looking was this link:

"WTC steel I-beam finds home in Afghanistan"
"The beam, which is nine-feet long and two-feet wide, weighs more than 950 pounds. It was donated to the Army through an organization called Sons and Daughters of America, Breezy Point, according to a military report."

Anyway, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of this, or if I am the only one that finds it odd at the very least.
I know it's not a new thing. From the brief searching I found memorials going up as early as September 11, 2011.

Still, though, the woo-woo part of me is thinking that there must be some bad joo-joo attached to these artifacts, and thinking that maybe spreading them around the world may be spreading some psychic disharmony.

Who knows.

There is a memorial with a beam like you posted at a Border Patrol Station in far West TX. I thought it was very weird as well.

A side note, I drove up to it one day just trying to pass time as I was waiting to pick someone up. I drove up to it then turned around and then back to town. A plain clothed border patrol or some other agency in a blacked out SUV, followed me about 4 miles till I parked. He and another fellow in the SUV got out and wanted to see me ID and questioned me about where I lived and what I was doing.

They call us paranoid.......

Anything to perpetuate the lie and play on peoples emotions.

Everything associated with this event continues to more gross than before.

To see people onlook and gaze then crave a piece of the death and destruction is flat out disturbing.

Thanks for sharing

Another bump

I am beginning to manifest paranoia that this beam may be radioactive.

I have felt nauseous and dizzy all day today.

Does anybody know how effective homemade geiger counters are?

Or if anybody lives near a similar memorial and also possesses a geiger counter?

I can't keep from imagining this outbreak of the spread of radioactive twisted metal in dense public areas.

I don't know.

I need sleep.
