My apologies if this has been covered as I've yet to read the whole thread, but have you ever read the tales of reefkeepers attempting to catch and remove one of these things....? Apparently, their intelligence makes this a difficult task. One wonders if spatial reasoning can translate directly into a form of intelligence for a biological entity. Their ability to communicate is also reprtedly top-notch. I've always been of the belief that certain animals, had they made the struggle onto land, may have eventually discovered fire. Octopods and squid would be another example. It occurs it is difficult for Mankind to think of itself as merely a 'handed animal'. Personally I feel that the fact we have yet to progress beyond opiates in the management of pain speaks loudly to the great importance of biology as a science. Quoting: V(pi)3³ Ever try to net a Damsel fish? So fast... At the very end a Damsel fish attacks it. No doubt. In the 15 years I have had a salt water tank, the damsel fish be the meanest. And the fastest. Just try to net one. Quoting: Seer777 When I first started out as an aquarist, I was offered the damsel fish as a 'hardy starter'. lol. So territorial it killed nearly everything in the tank. Even invertebrates. Eventually, I had to remove every single piece of live rock in my tank, to get him out. No easy task. Cost me hundreds. As a hobbyist. The next was the Tomato clown. They become king the tank. In short order. Quoting: Seer777
