from previous experience, it seems that they do this from time to time. I feel it to get people desensitized to their warrantless searches. and with the open borders to the south, is this really a good use of resources?

Are you near the Canadian border?

this is between exits 30 and 29 in southbound lane of I87 approx 75 miles south of the canadian border, in N Hudson, just north of schroon Lake in upstate NY. I saw the border patrol in Schroon Lk yesterday so there was some hints that this was going to happen. I have seen it periodically happen before, they shut down I 87 and force all soithbound traffic to pass through and ask general questions. They also set up on US Route 9 (an alternative to I87) to catch vehicles trying to avoid I 87 roadblock. "Routine" might be the word BP uses, or training....I have seen them using dogs during these road blocks, so maybe its looking for drugs en route from quebec to NYC, as this is major corridor between Montreal and NYC.....does that make it OK?

With this ISIS thing seemingly going global, my guess is they're not looking for drugs. Stay safe, my friend.

I dont believe that they are acting in my best interests, either. I believe this is straight up conditioning for the police state that is coming.

I saw one behind me (SUV) on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. near Blowing Rock, NC, when I looked back again, he flew off to the right down some road. did some research and found the US govt. owns all the land that boarders the Pkwy. and a few Mtns. in blowing rock. Still have no idea y BP was patrolling or even in the area (3800 ft above sea level and no where near a boarder.)
