A applied for a job 2 weeks ago and just had a dream. please someone give an opinion...

I neglected to mention this guy I would always avoid his calls as he would like to be nosy and ask me how my job situation was and if I had improved it. i would always be ashamed to admit that i had not found any employment still. but for some odd reason I picked up the phone this time around.

no, its one of those written exams. sort of like an aptitude exam.

Sounds to me like a pre cog dream and it happened on a Friday too. it appears to be telling you that they hired someone else but that person has let them down somehow and you could be number 2 on the list. try not to laugh if they give you some BS reason for the other teacher. stay by the phone etc and see what occurs. good luck.

its not a teaching job. the position is yardmaster. the dude who called me is a former classmate that had gone further than I did after graduation, and he'd call me every so often to be nosey and indirectly make me feel shamed that I was stuck in a dead end job and had not found something like he did while he found a good job.

You were right! Just got the news today, I PASSED!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! I am so happy right now.

I passed the preliminary stage. The next phases are background check, formal interview, and if I am successful at those I moved on to the three months training.

Holy shit!!!! the same guy in the dream contacts me today via email!!!! He asks me for my telephone number. He contacts me the very day I get my results!!!! WHAT THE HELL??!!! should i respond to the email and give him my number? or should i avoid him in fear that he might jinx everything?

I think a dream of contrary---your friend was the one that failed, not you......I hope and pray you get the job....contrary dreams mean the opposite of what you might think...
perhaps this friend is the one who may be hurting job-wise not you......

Now, avoid falling in the trap. Be kind, courteous but don't be baited to strike back when he does the above. Don't let him hold that power over you.

1) They forcé you to make a test nobody will evalue

2) They said "You'll get the result the Day X". The day arrives and no results.

3) They say ya: well, wait more and then try it again maybe you'll get it then blablah, let's see...

4) You have text-book nightmares on the stuff


SOLUTION: Look for another chance over there. Not a very serious firm. Yeah, email them bc who knows... And think a job is just a job.

Update: By the stroke of luck I run into my former college classmate who I dreamed and posted about as this thread. You won't believe why he wanted to contact me! He has a job offer for me which pays $70k/yr!!! and that is more than the current job I am trying to secure! What are the chances of that?

This dream totally did not pan out in wake time or I guess I misinterpreted it. Anyhow, he says he can almost guarantee me the position, but that it requires leaving NYC. I would be troubleshooting Panasonic's electronics on board commercial airliners during flight operations. This is right up my alley as I have two degrees in aviation.

On the one hand, a job with MTA North Metro, that if I get will be a life time job (working for the city) with excellent benefits. And on the other hand, a job with Panasonic, which is a private corp. and pays nearly twice the starting salary MTA offers.

I am at a crossroad and need advice. What should I do?
