Could be hormone-related, though. I should get my levels checked. absolutely..hot flashes? Thyroid? Last time they checked my thyroid was ok but I do get hot flashes occasionally. This time of year, the days are shorter, less sunlight, etc. That can lead to mild depression. I'm not big on labels, but some call is SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). One key indicator is that you crave carbs like desserts, bread, etc., noticeably more than usual. Another is sleeping more than usual. I bought a sunlamp a few years ago, and it seems to help a bit. An MD friend of mine, who suggested the sunlamp, also prescribes temporary prescriptions for antidepressants this time of year. It's interesting, because he usually suggests nutrition, exercise, etc., as the first solution. In this case, he says the pill is fast and easy way to take the edge off. |

I quit eating meat awhile ago and had to battle through some mood issues. |

I find this much more challenging to do when I'm in a relationship. Quoting: halman ------ I'm very much an introvert. Being around a lot of people depletes me and I have to recharge by spending time alone. I consider myself an empath so crowds are difficult. But you're right: when you have a significant other or kids it's much harder to carve out that time. Thanks for your input! Many self medicate and become drug addicts and alcoholics. Think about this - if you can receive other's emotional energy, you can also send. Also, I think it would be hundreds of times worse if born again Christians filled with the Holy Spirit were not here to counter them. Anyway, if it is just you, try Omega 3's. They are great for your heart, brain, and cardiovascular system as well as having mild anti-depressant properties. |
