I also have some other questions.

Why does the lava only come out through volcanoes? When the lava can take away a part of a mountain, why can't it burst through a flat surface?

Why now? What changed that made it happen now?

Why aren't eruptions not forbidden because they produce too much CO2?

Lava doesn't always come out of volcano's. Reykjanes in fact doesn't have a single central volcano.
The earth just rips open there creating fissure eruptions, even on flat surface. Those fissures can be many kilometers long.

Grimsvotn volcano is on a yellow alert, with a nasty explosive attitude and a history of large ash clouds impacting the North Atlantic

A smaller-scale lava eruption continues in Iceland, with little harm outside the eruption area. But a much larger volcano is currently getting close to an eruption in Iceland. It is a much more violent, explosive volcano, with historical impacts on life in Europe and the Northern Hemisphere.

This one will shut down Europe unlike Covid ever could.

Here we go again, I'm betting we will have a few weeks of action, then the energy will move down to the Canaries, it was obvious when the last eruption in iceland ended, and in short time, La Palma went off, watching with interest...
