Is there any damage at the Geothermal Plant located directly above (close enough per map) the swarm?

That swarm was tectonic. There will be more to come. The inflation is still ongoing at the same rate.

Nope..that plant can tolerate much bigger quakes. The danger really is if an fissure opens up there, that plant will be destroyed by lava. That magma inflation is literally right under it and The Blue Lagoon.

Earthquake with magnitude Mw5,2 in Þorbjörn mountain (Fagradalsfjall mountain)

Today (12. March 2020) at 10:25 an earthquake with the magnitude of Mw5,2 took place in Fagradallsfjall mountain east of Grindavík town (Reykjanes volcano). This earthquake was felt over a wide area. This earthquake appears to be directly connected to the inflation that has been taking place in this area.


There is a risk of strong earthquakes in this area and it is going to be a while until it starts to quiet down again. There is at the writing of this article no signs of magma moving towards the crust. It is unclear if that is going to change but no such signs have been detected at the writing of this article.

Continued inflation around Mt. Þorbjörn-19.3.2020
From the most recent crustal deformation measurements, it is now clear that the inflation that occurred in Þorbjörn in January-February has started again. This is confirmed by both GPS and satellite data Scientists from the Icelandic Met Office, University of Iceland and ISOR met Wednesday (18.03) to review the latest data. The deformation is occurring in the same location as before, but at a slower rate. The uplift started in January and halted temporarily at the end of February. The most recent data show that since the beginning of March the uplift is about 20 mm.

link of what? Nothing is happening, no quakes. It's just an exercise.

What does that mean though? Sorry, I have no QLue what a volcanic exercise is? I live near a bunch, Ranier, Baker, Meager (getting active right now), and have never seen nor heard of a volcanic exercise even though I am right in the middle of a few? Heck even my own beloved home mountain of Mt. Elphinstone is a 'dead' volcano.

How can you have a volcanic exercise? Are the rumbles and quakes and volcanic activity being made intentionally? Help me out here Luis..

No it's just an exercise ot that volcanic alarm site. No quakes or activity.

Once the gym reopens I'll have to try it.
