Forgot to add, the rice I spoke of is at least 7 years old.

I have at least a 5 gallon bucket.

Didn't catch your reply......

dang computer is picking on me this morning......

Friggen 'plug ins'.

Flour type stuff will not last so long unless you add O2 absorbers, bugs will take it quick.

Better get used to eating bugs......

Put the flour and the rice in the freezer for twenty four hours. It'll kill the bugs.

I do not think it will kill the eggs however.

Storing the flour in freezer is a good way to go.

I've learned to rinse rice in hot water, washing it.

Works good.

That is a very informative web page, saved to hard drive.

A few more ways to protect flour.....

Neighbor gave me 20 pounds or so of some older flour. It looked fine but was in a 3 gallon bucket. I put it into quart jars and gently pressure cooked it. 10 pounds for 10 minutes. This would have same effect as the web page method of oven heating to kill bugs.

Another is to use jars, include an Oxygen absorber.

I had a pressure bottle of CO2, carbon dioxide, used for soda fountains, makes the fizzy and pressurizes the syrups to make fountain pop.

If you have a bucket of grain or flour, run a hose to the bottom, open gas bottle for a couple minutes, this will displace all oxygen and prevent bugs. To test, light a cigarette lighter inside bucket. If Oxygen is pushed out lighter will not light. Argon gas can also be used. Argon is used on wire feed welders, I have 2 bottles so I could also use this.

Thanks for the above post!! Valuable info.

Just a bump, trying out some of my new smilies.

Leaving the Jerky to age and soak up the herbs and spices one more day.

It is cut into 1/4" thick about 1" strips. I have 5? pieces of foil laid out with solid 1/4" Venison laid out, one atop another on a cookie sheet. 18" X 12" X 5 Layers.
Lots of Jerky!!!
Directions said to put back into bowl and work it around to thoroughly spread the spices. the most annoying tedious part of doing this task was laying out the meat.
I cheated. I layed them out, pushed and arranged them for a solid layer. Once I seasoned this side, I covered with foil again, pressed it down to stick,
Then I was able to flip the whole sheet, carefully pull the foil off......Season the other side. Now when it goes into the oven for a slow dry all I need do is thin it out a bit and spread them out.
directions say to lay them on grate of oven....
Messy and tedious time consuming.
They will not dry as thoroughly or as quickly but I think I'll have more control as it will go slower?

This is new to me. I've done a lot of canning over many decades and I learn some trick or shortcut or learn a hard lesson each time.....

Then to finish I think I'll dry them in my Dehydrators that Rie bought. I think one was Christmas 2 years ago?
Since they are slow, not real hot.

Cooking in oven on foil slows that down, gives me more control, less chance of buggering the Jerky up. Same using Oyster Dehy to finish.
Much less risk than trying to do it right first time in oven, laid out on racks.

Bunch Less Work Too.

Edit, I had one quart that I re-did in pressure canner last night not seal.
No clue why?????? That's OK though it's in fridge and will be stew base this week!!
Lid was clean, jar has no top chips...I dunno??
I cleaned them all well and used new lids.....

Darn it. Burned about 2 pounds of jerky.

The rest is just about done.

I always seem to learn the hard way.

Was drying in the oven, fo the most part. Getting tired, dozed off, woke to a house full of acrid smoke......

I should not have tried to do all 8 pounds at once.

I had 2 sheets laying on bottom of oven, too hot,
those burned. I'll be putting the remainder in the oven for a very short heating and then maybe into dehydrator.

It's flippin cold out!

Copy and paste from my "It's about Life" thread.

Working on chain saws. I've got a prime 18" White Oak down and saws quit the other day. I've got plenty of wood but I harvest in big pieces. 6'-8' long and I don't bend over as often. Cut it up and process it here at home, at my leisure when it's nice out.

I spent $98 on carburetor rebuild kits, fuel line and such.

Filled in Steve the local Stihl dealer owner on the latest Conspiracy stuff.

Nice buncha guys there. Funny, haven't seen me in almost a year, I'm sporting a beard now and every one of them knew my name.....

Weird.

Got one saw going today. Continuing, repeating problem of carb coming loose. So I made a new red high temperature gasket, cleaned all the intake manifold surfaces well, gooped them all with 'form-a-gasket' and lots of green loctite should take care of the loosening problems.

Chopped up enough for a couple days.

My 028 Stihl is pissing me off......Still.....

IMO, its under your feet and in the air around you.

If this current event continues for years, then we are looking at unprescedented numbers. We must always remember that the So2 output from our Barda Fissure must be combined with all other sources. The most astonishing one is the fact that in 2013 there were more eruptions than anytime in recorded history. That So2 remains in the Stratosphere for 2 years after being converted to Sulfuric Acid, so we must add together all the eruptions from 2013, 2014 and our fissure. Then we must add to that all the So2 that is being emitted by manmade burning of fossil fuels. When you put all that together, we are looking at some major changes to our climate right now and for quite some time.

This is why it is so cruical for everyone to be aware so they can properly prepare!

Working on saws half the day.
Starting major rebuild of 2 Homelite 360's.
Both are about 40 years old!!!
Phuggin Monsters when they are running.....
New crank seals and carb Kits.
Will Pull pistons and hone cylinders,
general cleanup of entire machines.
One carb done this morning.

I see, finally, the side brace is missing from the Stihl I just got going from Rick.
(The one that was supposedly not used after I rebuilt 2 years ago?)
It ran good today, need to make a new side brace. This is why the Carb keeps coming loose!!!!

I took Ray's 22' Sail Boat back to his house to get it under the roof of his out building.
I do not want to have to maintain a tarp over it

Things will go just as I see.....

In one to 1.5 years I will be able to go to the Marina
and select any 40' Sail Boat I desire to play with.........

I am pleased with my work today......

I rebuilt a 35-40 year old saw.

Old Homelite 360.

I have 2. friggen monsters they are......

Squirted some starting fluid, 5 pulls to prime the gas line, she's running.

These are comparable to a new $900 saw.......

It's like I just 'made' $900 this week.

Who needs a Phukking job......

This was a complete tear down, all the way to parts......
to replace crank shaft seals.
Carburetor was rebuilt yesterday?

I'll finish with it and run the piss out of it tomorrow.

Stihl dealer has the parts to re-do the pull rope components for the other Stihl.

I'll get those next week and it will run again too.
(I did get it running but the pull rope mechanism is shot....)

Another $1000 saw....also 40 years old!

A Good Day!!
I'm almost impressed!

The rebuilt Homelite ran good today.

The rings are seating I believe.

Was able to finally get the idle to set properly, without chain constantly running.

I'm pleased!

Parts for 2 Stihl's tomorrow.

Should have a couple more running good this week!

Another good morning.

Steve, Stihl dealer had a used fan for the 047AV so I got one for half price, $24 instead of $47.

Had to drill and tap out the 3 bolt holes for the gas tank, all 3 were about gone. I went deeper and now have 1/2" of good threads in each. The bolting tab up by throttle is busted off, it is where the carb brace bolts up too. Cut the busted tab off. Using a 'Through' bolt, the carb is now braced securely.
I LockTite EVERYTHING.

The Muffler got an added bracket/brace. One corner tab was broken off and a busted bolt in the hole. Drilled and tapped that, mig welded a nut on for a new tab. New pull rope, new 'Dogs' to engage flywheel. Pull rope works perfect now.

I took this one outside after a small squirt of generic WD-40 that I get for half price at dollar store, bugger started on 4th pull......Cool!!!

Adjusted carb for a good idle and she's strong, without tearing it down to rings and honing cylinder. That was done last time, 2 years ago. Before 'Numb Nuts' tore it up a second time.
Remind me to tell 'PJ' that he is an idiot.

No, I am not returning this saw this time. it is now mine.

I did not get paid for rebuild last time,
I'm sure I wouldn't be this time.

About 10 hours and about $55 spent, new carb Kit I bought yesterday was not needed. It goes into my stock.
I've spent $180 on chain saws in the past week.
Priced new cheapy saws yesterday at an Amish shop.
Husquevarna as big as what I'm fixing are $700 to match the Stihl 041AV and about $900 to match my Homelites.....
The 028 is worth about $700 for a new one.
Or more. So I'm doing good with my parts money spent.

I'll rebuild the carb 100% on my Stihl 028 in a little while, today. Break Time!
It should be running good today too.
I've got a long list of used parts dealers from the Amish yesterday, so I hope to get another clutch shoe for my second Homelite 360 that some dumbutt broke the other day....

Going over to a neighbors from church Saturday. A bunch of them get together and cut wood for free for the poor or older folks in the church. I'll be taking all my equipment, fuels, oil, should have 3 or 4 big saws running.
(The Stihls and the Homelites use different mixes.)
Hard Hat, Gaff to roll logs, "Bertha" my splitting Battle Ax...Trailer and big GMC 4 X 4.....Should be a Fun day of work for charity.

spent a couple hours at the big Stihl dealer today.

Thought I received the wrong carb kit......

That one is for the 041AV that is now running!!!

The other kit, I didn't think I got.....

Yup, I have it. Bought another for spare.

I now have 2 full kits for the Stihl 028, 2 extra diaphragm sets.
I also bought 4 chains that are close to new last week at flea market for $5.
That's $125 worth of new chains!!!

I think I'm good for saws for a while!
Just checked phone messages, I'll call the old saw dealer near sprigfield tomorrow and sounds like I can get replacement clutch shoes for the 40 year old Homelite also.
I might rebuild my 2nd 360 tomorrow.

Might not!
My re-vulcanized BF Goodrich 35 X 12.5 new tire with a hole stabbed in side wall is repaired, patch over the re-vulcanized hole on inside, mounted, balanced. I can pick it up in morning.

So I should have that back on the big GMC tomorrow.

Snow king mudder has the tube in. Mounted on truck.

My re-vulcanized tire is done.

Those BF Goodrich are in the shed locked up.

Makes 6 good tires for the GMC.

2nd tank of propane coming out Monday. This tank will just be storage.

Using a 'Wet Leg' I will now begin a propane unit install on the GMC.

My hands are sore.......damn Stihl 028 is close, but something is escaping me.....not metering gas right......

Had it completely tore down yesterday. Honed the cylinder.

Needed to check the rings and cylinder. Man I got a Homelite clutch ordered from today said using starting fluid can destroy your rings so i wanted a look.

They are fine.

Saw wants to run but not quite right on the metering needle valve.

I'll get it. 2 big saws ready to go for tomorrow. Both should run good all day.

Have a Super weekend!!

Quoted from the Ebola 2014 thread,

I suggest many of the animal die offs, even in Africa and Europe are being caused by the insane levels of radiation from Fukushima now.

Yes I'm sure many are disease, but I believe just as many are radiation.

Blood coming from beaks is a strong indicator I am right.

Story in the news list at left of page is a good read.
[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

Radiation Levels are now high enough in USA to kill in days, weeks or months at most.
I believe there are occasional clouds passing over that will almost make you glow in the dark....
Look at that article, levels are like being in a broken Nuke plant now.....

Animals that spend much of their lives on the ground, eating things that live on the ground, are even more susceptible to high Rad doses than people.....
However, people eat Cattle that eat grasses, that are now heavily contaminated.
I've suggested repeatedly that everyone should now be taking regular Cleanse or Detox supplements like Bentonite clay.
This will remove much of the heavy metals and radiation we are all consuming breathing contaminated air and foods.
Chem Trails are a large part of the poisoning we are getting too.

Cesium 137 Irradiated Iodine gets into your thyroid and destroys your immune system.
Bad immune system you are not going to survive common Flu let alone Ebola....

I do a cleanse 3-4 times a week now.

'Wut's her name's' hair is falling out, but she thinks I'm an idiot.

Maybe she's right?
(My hair is full and thick and is NOT falling out)

 Quoting: HnryBwmn///KD0WSJ

My suspicion is this is a local phenomenon in larger cities - only a very small CPM rise where I'm at, the Front Range. Far outside of any city.

Which begs the question: has someone dusted the cities with radioactives? Or is this a measurement issue?
 Quoting: Cheyenne

Yes, and yes......
(Edit, take note...)
Anyone that travels much will notice that the larger cities are Chem Trailed MUCH more than any where else.

It's a combination of several factors. In the Chem Trails is a cocktail of 300 poisons. Wastes from the Aluminum industry, Aluminum Oxides, Fluorides.
From the Nuclear industry we have Bromide, Tritium, Strontium Uranium and more.
Virus of many types, bacteria and even biological wastes have been detected.
No, I'm not giving links. This info has been documented enormously here on GLP for years.
Anyone that denies or argues that Chem Trails are not real is a total ass hole and a shill G'mint paid Kocksukker working to fool you into Ignorance.

Regarding your question regarding this being a city phenomenon,

My reasoning is this.....the poisons are a cumulative dust. Whether Chem Trails of Fuku Toxins.
These dusts build up on the ground.

They "ACCUMULATE" OR BUILD UP TO HIGHER CONCENTRATIONS OVER TIME.

The rains will wash them away, to an extent.
Contaminating rivers, lakes, streams and eventually your water well in the country......
I now have a Fluoride filter on my shower!

The cities are coated with concrete, glass, asphalt.
The radiation has no where to go, it just continues to build up. Waiting for rain.
Under windy conditions your exposure levels can be 2 X or 3 X what would be on calm days.
Also when the Jet stream is overhead, expect up to 5 X higher exposure.
Especially if Japan just had a Cyclone hit in the last few days.....

When the Jet is over head, on a windy day? I've seen Rad levels jump X 10......

'Wuts her name' went on vacation in mid April when I was studying Fuku and several radiation reporting web sites. Levels were hitting up to 700-800 cpm of Gamms around bigger cities out west. The family went to Grand Canyon.
All along the route, jet overhead. Windy every day.
Cities they went through were hitting high counts of 700+ every day.
I believe they received doses of up to 1500 CPM on some days......
She went psycho about the end of the trip.
Was not the same person when she returned.
You know the rest of that story.

Take a look at that link. You will find the current readings around the USA quite disturbing.

Ebola, WWIII are now a MOOT Point.

We are being hit with Multiple ELE's now.

It's been fun, gonna get funner real quick.

Anyone that might complain I am off topic....

I am not because these extreme radiation levels are conducive to extreme mutations of all living things.

Including the Plagues.

Edit, watch the video of 2 scientist on Washington's coast. 9 days of low tide during "Super Moon" 3 months ago in September.
They saw only 4 remaining species along 200km of coast....over 9 days.
They said the sum total of all animal life they saw would fit in one wheel barrel.....
4 species remained where 5 years ago there were 5500 and animal life EVERYWHERE.
It is all now dead.
Video here,

Working on the rebuild of the second Homelite 360 saw.

Cylinder honed, cleaned, piston cleaned and score lines on exhaust side belt sanded away.

New seals installed. I could only get four new ones.

the saws both had 2 seals on the chain drive side so I used one used seal on the inner there.
(that's 3 seals per saw X 2 saws or 6 needed, I could only get 4)
Head is attached to body, Join 2 halves of crank case next.

It's break time.

Went out for patrol yesterday. We had a light dusting of snow. I found about 8 deer beds, where I expected them. Saw one flash of fur at 150 yards.......
Deer numbers here are way down, 2 neighbors poach and all shoot does.....
I found evidence of more than I expected.
I have not been hunting so I would say they are on this property because there is no hunting pressure at present....
Till tomorrow!

No wind yesterday, makes it difficult to "Still Hunt".

Or move slowly through the woods. Deer tend to group up as the weather turns cold and breeding is over.

It gets real difficult to sneak up on a group with big ears that can hear you burp at 300 yards.......
and 6-14 of those giant long distance eye balls!

O must go II

Being a young lady of the Millenials - my Boomer parents got rid of their sewing machines, only canned food a few times, and so I have to recover the lost arts of self preservation from scratch and through my own research since I'm experiencing a next-to poverty level existence that I didn't experience while growing up.

I'm shocked at how I have nothing of use, if the buy-everything new society ever collapses. Nothing. This is a very expensive project.

I have no canning supplies. I have to bite the bullet and buy cans of different sizes and a good pressure cooker. Need a butane stove too.

Been reading about how to stock up on water. Those Mylar bags inside boxes are perfect. I have to buy those next.

It was weird to think that people used to sew their own clothes. How would we do that without electricity?
Anyone have a solar powered sewing machine?

Sewing machines, I have about 6 now. Older American made I can pick up for $5-$10. I used to repair and maintain them as part of my job at "Hubco" in Hutchinson Kansas.

The Amish around here use older singer machines and put treadle bases under them.

I am hoping to get my hands on a treadle machine.

A "Singer Patcher" to be specific.

I had one before, got it cheap, rebuilt it, sold it when I left Michigan in 1986.

A local man had one, he did stupid stuff in Asia, got sick and is dead about a month now. I just found out that his Asian wife is finally in the states. I'm hoping there will be an auction and perhaps I can buy it now.

I do leather work, have since 1979. Yeah, I'm getting to be an old fart! The Patcher machines were originally for shoe and boot work. Long skinny arm on the bottom with a rotating walking foot above.

He wouldn't sell it to me when he was alive even though he did not use it.

Canning stuff, pressure cookers and jars can be found cheap at flea markets and at yard sales, auctions.

More and more people do not do it so a lot of this stuff is practically being given away.

As far as solar, I think it will be a waste. Whether for electricity or for heat.
Expect perpetually cloudy skies for the most part for the rest of this age. Many years before the dust clears after "IT" is over.

The great volcanoes are all waking up, earth changes beginning. They will cause a "Nuclear winter" and overcast for many years.

I'm going to start building wind turbines using truck alternators on smaller scale, multiples.

I'm single, I could use some help!!

Planning an addition soon. 40 X 12. Leather shop and actually have a "Living Room"?

My living room now has 4-8' X 3' work tables....I've shared some pix here, this isn't just my "Man Cave" it is my living room!

Also going to try to get another green house up this winter.

I believe in 6 months it will all be about food.

I think I will have the fuel, electricity problem taken care of.

Even if I must run everything on wood gas.......

did not see any deer this morning. I do not have patience to sit in a tree all day!! Between squirrels barking and a crow that circled over head alarming for the whole forest I was pretty sure the deer were warned and I was wasting my time.

I have other areas to hunt that I have not touched all season that will be better prospects. Tomorrow afternoon I think I will go for 1/2 day to a new area.

Sure did enjoy munching on Jerky this morning.....

AC 6924, you sound smart. You sound single.

where do you live? you might try to get in touch with me.

Picked up another fresh deer kill 300 yards down the road.

Dangit, would be nice to shoot one on the hoof....

Friggen cars are getting more than the hunters this year!!

Young Buck, 1.5 years old. Will make some excellent canned meat. More Jerky!!!

Munching some now. Never made it before.

I love it! Will make another 10 pounds or so.

Good stuff. In 4 months it will all be about food.
Copied off the Ebola thread.
I'm feeling like I should do a Situation report.

Hearing from far and wide in the last couple days

"Everyone is Sick"

The Iraq Vet I called last night is not yet taking Ray's Herbal Cleanse. Said he is on Antibiotic for flu sypmtoms.

His whole family of 5 is now sick.

He cooks at the Flea Market. Sat with him and ate his food

For an hour last week. I'm not sick!!!

I've heard quit a few small communities nearby are now infested with illness.....
 Quoting: HnryBwmn///KD0WSJ

my area is horrible...Toledo, Ohio...whole schools closed down early here for Christmas break, due to empty classrooms from illness...the kids and I went through it also, (on top of our other health problems)...then I loaded us all up on much sage, garlic, and other herbs...we are better now...some people we know been sick for WEEKS with this flu...also, I noticed you said antibiotics for flu....antibiotics do not treat flu...viruses are not treated with them because they do no good...those are for bacterial infections and such....
I think they are lowering our immune systems so we'll contract Ebola easier...I also noticed a HUGE increase in chemtrails here RIGHT BEFORE the illnesses here began.
 Quoting: krissyinky

Yeah, you have to look forward to the Chemtrails.
Several people were having respiratory issues 3-4 weeks ago when they dumped the biggest dose I have ever seen in this area.
My Vet friend has several health issues.
Lost a leg when a horse fell on it. Borderline diabetes too I think. He might have said something different, I'm not sure. His wife and kids are all sick.
Busy around here today, working on saws, splitting wood, 3 hours hunting this morning. Another deer got hit in road 300 yards down, I have it hanging, skinned, clean, to age a few days. 1 year old spike, will be good for meat canning and more Jerky, been eating the heck outa that!
2 different 'wood gas' projects going right now in nearby shops. I plan on trying that but generator to propane is maybe my next project. Working on Kenwoods needs to be attended to, several people wanting them.

Reports on Texas Patriot that orders of freeze dried foods are hitting record highs, the company says going to private bunkers mainly in the East.......

Re: "Preppers", Thieves oil Pg 10, Herbalist Dr. Shultze Plague Remedy Pg 4.
Been working on food.

New Years eve bought a small pickup load of food for $150.

25# of brown sugar $12, 1/2 Bushel of Michigan Delicious apples $10 they ARE good!
1/2 bushel of sweet taters $10.
30 dozen 'pullit' or small eggs, new laying hens, $30.

14 gallon of Raw Milk $28. Most is now frozen. I have found it lasts twice as long in fridge if frozen first!!!

4-#10 large cans of pears, Yams, black olives, 4-50 ounce cans of beef 'Consume' or broth. $20.

All this food was bought from Amish friends who live to my east 10 miles. Dairy farm just started an egg operation.
Bulk foods had the rest.

Also bought a Large used Diesel truck Battery,
good condition, $40.

New is about $200.

Purchased for 12 Volt energy storage using some Solar and I will be building 12 volt wind turbines.

Small units with 4 foot blades and using older Truck alternators.
I have 30 "Implement" lights off combines, all 12 volt and 4000 LED's for lighting systems.

Just finished second deer canning.

32 pints of 80% meat stew on the shelf.

5 pounds of loin set aside to make jerky.

Fresh deer hanging (#3) from archery 3 days ago.

Hoping to process that this weekend, maybe go for one more.....

Food. It will be critical in just a few months I believe.

Re: "Preppers", Thieves oil Pg 10, Herbalist Dr. Shultze Plague Remedy Pg 4.
Been a busy boy.
Almost have Deer #3 processed.

Long Day!

4 Lbs of jerky "aging" in fridge with spices, 30 hours now, will start to cook gently and dry maybe tomorrow.

3 good roasts in freezer, 1.5 lbs each. 4 bags of 'butterfly' loins in freezer, 1.5 lbs each.
Those will be Superb on the grill!!

18 quarts of rice/beans/peppers/HOT peppers ready for pressure cookers, 30% meat, good, filling, well rounded meals there.

4 gallons of meat soup stock in pressure cooker now, cooked, done.
This was all the bones with most meat removed and neck cut into 2 pieces. Even threw in the ribs, cut in half.
Need to pick out bones and 'Jar' it up to pressure cook tomorrow, about 50% meat there.
My thinking is that all that bone Marrow that was cooked into the stock is good for you!
All bones cut in half, even ribs.
Hand sharpened one of my Bone saws with a file the other day, cuttin Mammer Jammer now!

(The bones will go into freezer for the Okbash dogs.
Took them a big pan of bones today. They love me!
They've been coming over frequently and raiding the scrap pile in the yard. Another 10 pounds of scraps into freezer for them to keep them happy for the long term.)

I'll probably heat the pot of Soup stock up again before bed, leave till morning to jar.
I'm flipping beat.

My patrol schedule is keeping me worn down....but strong.

Another 4 lbs of smaller roasts to slice on the machine for a second batch of jerky this week, it can age a few days no major hurry. In Zip lock in fridge, I'm safe for at least a week to work on that batch.
Aged this deer what, 5 days?
Conditions were good for it this week.

Dropped my first Coyote while on patrol this afternoon......
I am glad, damn things are like ghosts and getting out of control. One shot through his middle, down he went.
Nice coat, might skin and tan......other than those big holes! 200 yards out, shot 'offhand'.
What does Coyote taste like?
Would you know if it was Dog if I told you it was Venison?

I finally found a place to store the 150# of wheat I just bought. Removed gas masks and filters from a big tub and got them into there. Also bought 25# of brown unrefined sugar, 50 cents a pound instead of $1.
Looking at buying more wheat.
Dammit man, I need to get after the planned addition....
Radios are still waiting!
I just realized I have one more week on the Bow season for deer and Turkey. Wild turkey is excellent!
I put the big pot with 4 gallon of Persimmons into the big freezer. Jam can wait!

Just ordered 2 recoil springs for the two rebuilt Homelite 360 saws. Both have new crank seals, honed cylinders, rebuilt carbs. Running excellent but both have pull rope issues with the recoil springs that are 40 years old.
This should top them off, last problem and should be Great reliable saws for years to come.

Stihl 041 needs a new Piston and rings.....not cheap but it will eventually get a complete rebuild. Again.
Has been running strong but I know Dumbass ruined the rings again.....I could see piston and rings that are now galled up through the exhaust port when fixing the 2 stripped muffler bolts.

The Stihl 028 may have a crank seal out or?
Seems to be compression issue. Same as the Homelites that had a seal drop out of one!
Need to tear it down too.

Springs for Homelites will be here in 2-3 days. Cut more wood next week and start selecting Small oaks for timbers for framing new addition.

More work?

Yes, I've been busy!!!

Today........

Took 2 dozen eggs and a gallon of milk to my new friend.

Also gave him a new pair of Swedish Wool Mittens, Mil Surplus, the Good stuff!!

Didn't need any more bales put out. Asked me if i wanted to cut some wood...

No, not dressed for it and no ear plugs with me. Just hung out for 1/2 hour, checking the cattle.

Loaded up some hedge he had cut. I thought for his Architect buddy he takes wood to.
Siad that fellow doesn't like hedge, burns hotter than blazes!

So he gave it to me....Geez!! Told him I'm not used to people being nice to me.

Back home, brought most of the in by the wood burner, man it sure does burn hotter than flip!

My old Nissan backfired and popped the muffler wide open at the seam, it's always something!!

Put a giant clamp around it to squeeze it back shut, put baling wire around it. I'll fix it with wire feed welder when it's not so cold out.

Been feeding "Jewel", one of the Okbash dogs, she won't go home.....
I might have to buy dog food.
She sure does love the venison scraps!!!

Just took 1/2 bale of good hay and 1 bushel of Persimmons with grass from my yard, buncha old apples and a 5 gallon bucket of corn out for the deer and turkeys.
Not a whole lot for them to eat right now. Plenty of Acorns sure, but that has to really get old!
Can you imagine eating nothing but Acorns every day?
Hopefully they will find it tonight before the crows do, they'll eat corn until they burst.

The stew,
Just added a quart of my sauerkraut from 2013, 1 quart of 'Ambrosia' Sweet corn from 2013, one quart of tomatoes from 2011 to the stew pot.
Put in 2 quarts of pickled yellow squash and cucumbers yesterday. Been cooking this for almost 3 days!
Debating more hot peppers....Jewel didn't eat much of the stew, I think it's the peppers!!
Cats will eat it as soon as she is not near......

Time to get that stew into jars. It is Excellent, eating a bowl now!!
Should make about 20 quarts, 30% meat. Good stuff. Sticks to your ribs!!

Edit, springs for Homelite saws came in mail today. Might work on those tomorrow.
Called them to thank them for quick shipping and the nice free pen!

WW One Michael
