Bansheegirl,

First, thank you for the compliment and your expression of appreciation. Makes up for some of the ridiculous Red I get!

Money and energy spent on a greenhouse for growing over winter might be better spent on 50 pound bags of potatoes.

I wouldn't expect much production during winter....
what you would spend just on hay bales would buy a bunch of taters.

Although, I had a rouge zucchini plant come up in my greenhouse couple months ago.

It is getting a fungus on every fruit. Darn thing is thriving though! It's like 3' wide and 6' across!!!!!

I should clean it up and get it sprayed with some copper and or sulfur anti-fungal.
Darn rhubarb is getting huge too.

You mentioned 'root cellar'.
Now are you wanting to grow potatoes or store some?

Root cellar is a storage term, but your text sounds as though you are wanting to grow taters in winter.
I don't think they would produce much.

Spend your energy more wisely.

Survival net is on right now, link below.

Discussing food and winter preps.

Grow Kale or turnips over winter.

Love Kale!

I wanted to get some hay-bales to help with moisture and insulation, but my mom says all the ones available in the carson valley are used for feed & have bugs in them... Is there a way to eradicate bugs in hay bales or should I look online for a different supplier? Got any ideas?

I'm up here at 6000' in the sierras. low humidity, but winter could be a doozy this year and I want to have things set up so I can SIP for a while until time to bug out to higher country...
Meanwhile I am attempting to do all this as a single mom with an 11 & 12 yr old, limited income and literally no "muscle" to help!
 Quoting: Bansheegrrl

I'm not Michael and he seems real clever with solutions, so he'll probably have better input, but would like to share mine.

If it were me, I'd use straw, not hay. Hay has food value. The food value draws bugs and mice. In baling, the hay dries in the sun and bugs have mostly abandoned it for fresher food. Have never had bugs in mine.

That said, I'd still use straw. Hay will collect moisture. In the best case, it can mold, causing nasty breathing conditions and make it no good for feed. In the worst case, it can spontaneously combust. Every few yrs. a farmer loses a barn from it for putting hay away and packing too tightly before it's totally dry. Farmers continually check hay to avoid that. Stick your hand in the middle of a bale and if it's warm, pull that bale because it's going to eventually catch fire.

Straw is SO much lighter than hay and with no muscle to help, it makes a big difference real fast. A bale of straw usually goes from 25-30 lbs. A bale of hay is usually at least 35/40 to 70/80 lbs. and up. It's a whole lot easier handling straw.

Last, if your garage attaches to your house, or if you park a car in it, I'd really rethink having hay or straw in it.

Gee.....much thanks for yet another compliment.
It's like I told Ray this past week. He's paying me $20 an hour cash to work on his truck and some other things.
Got the truck fired up too! Bugger sounds great! Needs an oil change and install my fabricated fuel control cable.

The Appreciation I feel is a real morale booster!
He brags me up all the time! He signed his book for me "To Michael, The Man that can fix anything!"I went to the Mormon church he attends......
Even bragged me up at church today!
Dang! That's one of my biggest personal brags, I actually make that claim and he has never heard me say that!!!!

Kinda strange/funny/interesting.....

Didn't know that about hay combusting, thanks!

A rancher I met a couple years ago at Flea Market offered me old straw free...2 weeks ago..it builds up I guess and he would like to just get rid of it....free labor removing it for him!

I mentioned doing a "Cobb" addition. Using the free sawmill scraps from my Amish buddy and a load of sand and a load of clay. Mix, add straw.....I've seen some fantastic 18"-2' thick walled homes around here. Last one I saw was 2' thick walls and 2 story!!!
almost 40' tall, big family. About 40' round.

Almost impregnable walls, super insulation value!

If I had done the addition and Rie had gotten the Art Studio I promised.....she would have never left.....

I had 300 cinder block I got screwed out of by the landowner......

He needs to make amends.
I may be doing a mechanic's lean on the Bobcat and Carpenter lean on this house.

I'm up to 2 pages of things he has broken his word to me on.......virtually EVERY TIME.

I am really reluctant to put any more time or money or labor into a structure that he will now not sell me.

Thanks!

I was thinking pine needles could offer the same insulation?

Humidity/moisture really is not much of an issue here- high desert, we're usually @ 10%
 Quoting: Bansheegrrl

YW. Sorry but I don't know enough about insulation and your night temps.

It's an interesting idea. Desert makes me think of sand, and some sand in front of glass seems like it would be pretty awesome. The sun could heat the sand and give off heat at night? But, would it burn it in the day? Also, you'd be sacrificing light for heat and to provide light would cost more than buying potatoes.

I live in Ohio and nothing is going to grow in an unheated garage in winter regardless of insulation. My best success with potatoes was growing them in a big trash can on wheels. Left it out through spring and summer and rolled it into the garage on nights there was frost. Also rolled it into garage in summer when there were heavy rains at a time the potatoes shouldn't have had much water. When they were finished, it was easy to just dump the can and pluck out the taters.

I like Michael's idea better though. Buy them. LOL. Haven't priced them this year, but seems like they'd gone up to 12.50 for 50 lbs. last year. In a cool place in a single layer, they last a long time. You've got some great ideas though. If you use any of them, let us know so we can learn from your work. 8)

The thanks goes to you. It's interesting reading what you're doing (except hunting and killing, lol) even when I don't understand it. Like the truck you'd fixed for someone, and how you got a truck out of the mud, etc., Didn't have a clue what all you were doing with the truck but was impressed with it. You know a lot about many things. You earned that "The Man Who Can Fix Anything," title.

That cob addition sounds awesome but it seems like a ton of work to put into a place that you aren't going to be able to buy, unless you have a lifetime lease. Have read things about them and it sounds like they are easy to heat. Wonder how they'd hold up in heavy rains.

Hard to imagine someone leaving over not getting an art studio but better you found out now rather than later that things are so important to her.

Hope you can get your issues with your landowner settled in a peaceful way that benefits both of you. It would be hard living with those resentments. 300 cinder blocks is no small thing, and neither is going back on a deal to buy the place. Ouch.

Ray and I are going for Amish milk.

Our friend is now selling so much he no longer sells to the commercial truck that used to pump it out twice a week.

He often sells out now just to locals!

Need to discuss again with him getting cream on the days he empties and cleans his tank, cheap or free!

Ray said he was also going to dig some echinacea he has found.

That is when I said I would go with him.

It is a very good herbal for immune system.

My fabricated fuel cable for his truck should be nice and solid today, had him put it on the dash of the truck yesterday.

I'll grind down my 3 'splints' that are 'JB Quick' epoxied over the splice, add some more glue and then slide the tubing over that area.

It was an 'unsheathed' choke cable. The tubing will make it last longer, keeping road mud off the uncoated cable.

Slept pretty good, maybe 6 hours.

Aches and pains this morn. Getting old and I always push myself. Needed a 'day of rest'.

Keep prepping and rat holing stuff away!

Checking in to the "Breakfast Club" on 3.973 Mhz.

Bunch of Old Goats. Some days there are 80-120 check ins from 4 am til 8 am.

Lots of Old Goats.

Have a productive day!

An additional thought about taters.

I understand that the commercial growers in Idaho are now using so much chemical crap in the field that they actually wear chemical suits and respirators in the fields.......

I think the red and the yellow Yukon Gold are not so bad.

Or buy from a local farmer if you have one.

I try to avoid Idaho taters, those are the chemical ones.

My turn to 'check in'.

I was in woods with dually for fire wood.
It had been raining a lot. Ground around here is like a sponge. No rain and it is like concrete. When it rains a lot it is like muck, soaks it up.

The house is just one thing....then there's the 80' greenhouse he still owes me. Put up a small one and he wanted to argue it was twice what HE WANTED ME TO DO....
10' X 20'..... after promising one of 3- 80 footers I took apart. He paid $2500 for the 3 green houses. Several of us tore them down, every one knew I was supposed to get one of them. It was my Dodge Dually that pulled the heavy loads back with a 30 foot cattle trailer. Job could not have been done without my truck, this was why he made such big promises. I put in 4-10 hour days in the middle of summer at 90-95 degree hot days. Half a day loading cinder blocks, some 80 or so 12" heavy block, carrying 50 yards......fun, fun. About 300 block total.

He promised to pay for new plastic and 'wiggle wire' for my 80' green house.
I paid $175 for small roll of plastic and $150 for required 'wiggle wire' one year later, finally getting one up, 2 years ago. I finally built 20' X 16' after several arguments. He screamed at me like I was his retarded child...
and drill screws after I saved 2 gallon worth of the used stuff...that he 'couldn't find'...another $50.
So he owes me $500 for what I did get up, buying my own stuff. and still owes me 50' of greenhouse......

Marie did not leave over an Art studio, I'm saying she would have been happier, more secure feeling if we would have had more room. I am cluttered and she had almost as much stuff as me......here!

Cob tends to erode badly in rain, that's why walls are usually straight up and use a 3' overhang to protect them.
They need maintenance every few years.

I've put over $2000 in labor into a Bobcat he paid $500-$1000 for, new cylinder seals, rebuilt the motor. Debatable how much he has in it originally since he bought several pieces of equipment. He was going to pay the $150 for new hydraulic oil.....guess who paid for that!!!!
Now he will not repay me......
Rich people, ya gotta love them!!!

Time for a mechanic's lean on it and carpenter's lean on house.....

Re: "Preppers", Thieves oil Pg 10, Herbalist Dr. Shultze Plague Remedy Pg 4.
Today:

Just dug up a bunch of Lobelia with my friend Ray. Small blue flowered herb.

All sorts of medicinal uses. What wasn't big enough to dig I picked.

I gleaned most of 100 yards worth in a ditch.

Ray has a bunch to plant, I have a bunch. Good quantity to dry for making tinctures.

I think he said you can use olive oils for oily plants, Alcohol for some and even palm oil or peanut oil.
Had to call Ray just now, forgot what he said to use with Lobelia for the greens that I just picked......

Apple cider vinegar. Need to get that done today!
Finish my planting, got about half done, another half hour.

Got a bunch planted, need to finish that.

Get the trimmings in the greenhouse on my drying table.

Also harvested a huge pile of Mullen that was gone to seed on the way home from getting Amish eggs and milk, stopping to dig Lobelia. Half cup of tiny seed in bed of truck when I got home, this was collected of Mullen seed
Mashed up, ground I must have about half a bushel once ground up, or more of seed tops and dried leaves.

Bunch of green Mullen leaves drying too.

Just finished the Lobelia planting 2 hours later (edit) 2 quarts pretty stuffed of greens and flowers, filled with apple cider vinegar.
Ray also said open and stir/shake daily, let set for 21 days. Ideally finish on a full moon.
Should be about right, I think full moon was one week ago!

Trying to not be lazy but it is so easy.......

Re: "Preppers", Thieves oil Pg 10, Herbalist Dr. Shultze Plague Remedy Pg 4.
I did some shopping around today for best prices on things so I can save money for other things. I ended up adding 30 Jiffy biscuit mixes, and 30 Jiffy corn muffin mixes to my stock pile of food. Along with an extra 50 cans of veggies. They had brownie mixes on sale so got me an extra 5 boxes of those put away. I also bought another 20 pounds of beans today they had 1 pound bags on sale for 59 cents each. Time to stock pile any beans that were on sale. Then was looking at the high prices of meat and bacon and found some bacon ends on sale 3 pounds for $4.59. So I got me 5 packs and then split it all up, and put it in the freezer. Meat this winter, and if something bad happens I will have some meat in the freezer.

Then later on I went to a different store and they had bread mixes on sale for $1 each so got me another 20 of those. But that was about all they had on sale there.

Next Wednesday I will be picking up tons of cold medicines to last us through the winter months, and some extra. T.Paper is a must, so I decided to go back to Roses on the same day and pick up about 5 packs of their cheaper Scott type T.paper they normally get about $6 for 12 rolls. They also have great deals on pads there so I buy those up for the girls. I normally buy 3 or 4 packs and pay $2.50 a package. I have 4 months supply put away now, I can't wait to have 6 months or better supply put away.

I found Lipton family sized tea bags on sale today and bought 6 boxes. I got $2 off automatically when I bought 2 boxes. So I actually ended up paying $1 per box in the end. You can't beat the deals sometimes when prepping.

Oh yikes, what a mess. Sounds like you have more going on than something that can be easily resolved. Sounds hideous and would make you feel unappreciated. Doubt that he's considered what he'd be losing if things don't work out. There's a high money value on all the things you've done. Maybe he'll start thinking about that. Hope so.

Thanks for the info on the cob house. Was wondering about that.I'd be worried it would turn into a mud hut and collapse on me. LOL.

Have heard some good things about straw houses too.

Must have been a good day for you. I love wildcrafting and it's great you're getting it at the right time of year for it to reseed itself.

Be careful with that Lobelia though. My memory isn't fresh, but I'm thinking that 1 gram is a toxic dose and 4 grams is lethal. If my figures and calculations are right, it would only take 1/7th of an ounce to kill you. It does have some remarkable properties, but so does mullein. On a risk/benefit ratio, don't you think Mullein wins, hands down? Get many of the Lobelia benefits without the risk. You can even smoke mullein for lung congestion.

Did you see any other medicinal herbs while you were gathering?

You have goldenrod there, right? It's a wonderful decongestant and the time is right to harvest. It's traditionally been used for colds, flu, tea, and has many benefits with few risks. People think the Goldenrod is causing their seasonal allergies, when it's actually ragweed doing it. Someone can be allergic to anything, but goldenrod has very few allergens and a reaction isn't common. It's been spared overharvesting because of the myth though. 8)

Thanks!

I was thinking pine needles could offer the same insulation?

Humidity/moisture really is not much of an issue here- high desert, we're usually @ 10%

Thanks for both of your educated answers...

My idea was to grow potatoes indoors if need be. And to have an insulated storage space as well. Just a pipe dream at this rate, as I am sure the snow will hit before I have my arse in order!

The 'high desert' description my be a bit of a mis-nomer (think High Sierras/CA-NV). It *does* get plenty cold here in the winter, even summer evenings can get down to the mid-40's. We're at 6000' elevation, so the temperatures are very different from even the nearby Carson Valley...which I think is about 3-4000'
Growing up here is difficult because most of the dirt is made of decomposed granite and has a high acidity. I happen to be lucky enough to be in a meadow area, so my soil runs from sandy to loamy, I can usually make stuff grow okay, not great.

The hardest part right now is that this *is* a rental, and I hesitated to invest in the garden this year because I thought I'd move before winter...now I know I'm gonna be stuck for another 6 months, I wish I'd done more...

Oh well, it's all live & learn right?

Awww, my heart goes out to you. It's a horrible feeling to want so much to grow something and not be able to. Whether it's your situation, or deep in the gloomy winter weather, that urge just keeps pressing.

If you have windows that get some sunlight, there's quite a bit you can grow inside. Lettuce, herbs, even potatoes if you have a room you can stow an oversized trash can. A little basil pinched from a kitchen window plant added to some scrambled eggs can brighten a winter day.

Thanks for the weather description. It sounds like you'd have a real hard time even storing things outdoors with insulation. If you could dig down it would likely be good storage. I tried suspending a bucket of potatoes on a rope down a cistern (above the water, not in contact with it) when it was around 15/20 degrees. Took it out a few days later and they hadn't frozen. They definitely would have frozen outside even with insulation. Doesn't sound like it would be that easy to dig where you're at though.

Bet you'd do well with some raised beds with good topsoil added to them. Maybe it would help your feelings to start composting your leftover veggies, coffee grounds, etc. to make some good dirt for summer. Wish I could offer something. Sure do know the feeling. Get it every year, long before it's safe to plant.

Mr. Ray Hall has studied law for over 35 years.

He just published his first of many planned books.

"The Rise and Fall of Freedom in America"

It explains how to declare "Sovereign" and throw off the government yoke.

Everything they might do to me in court is null and void.

He drives without a license and no tags, no insurance......

Was stopped by the last Sheriff about 4 years ago for no tags. He had talked to him previously over phone. Sheriff asked "Are you the man that spoke to me on phone about Sovereign"? Ray answered yes, the Sheriff told him "have a good day" and let him go.

I am going to file Affidavit soon, Ray gave me the 3 page document.

I will also file a statement of all the work I have done around here on house and Bobcat and green house.

Land owner must reply to every point, within the time I specify.

Or it is all considered uncontested fact.
I do not think he will reply.
Then I can file a lien that cannot be refuted.

Hate to have to go to these lengths but he gives me no choice.
I've invested 6 years into this and will not be evicted like he has done to so many that don't pay their rent.

I'm not an herbalist, just following Ray's lead. Marie was great about knowing every plant and every tree.....

Spent much time in the "Future Farmers Association".

She was a strong asset in many ways.

I think I will also file Affidavit over the episode at the Marina, owner acting like he was going to shoot me for looking at boats......talking to people on dock.

No posting of his anti-gun policy and no signs stating that it is not "Public Domain".

I think a Law Suit is in order for putting my life at risk.

Escorting me from the foot ball game last week with 4 deputies the police are also liable.....for having a piece of empty leather on my belt, a holster and no gun.
His deputy that eyeballed me when I came in thought they had me for a Felony. Fools.

Ray said the 12 hour detention "For Observation" is Kidnapping......after the Marina incident.
Another potential Law Suit.

So I am planning some legal actions that will effectively make me untouchable, legally.

Also insure the Land Owner here cannot even think of evicting me.

I've more than earned my place. He knows this.

It's just a big game to him trying to suppress people he considers his own personal serfs....apparently!

Long day. Up at 5 am, went to Flea Market with minimum stuff.

Sold a pair of boots i paid $5 for, sold for $15.

That man is a friend of mine. Recently talking a lot.

He sold a property for $80K that he bought for $20K 2 years ago........Today! Profitted $60K. $60 K in 2 years....WOW.
Tried to Joo me down on the boots to $10.......

Part of the fun at Flea Markets so I don't fault him for that.

Went over to his place to see where he lives.....

Raskle has 3 classic Corvettes sitting in the yard....

Dangit man!

Buncha guns, 10 tractors........life is good!

End of an almost 1 mile dead end road, one neighbor.

Stopped to visit my Amish buddies sawmill.

Everybody is gone helping build a house, just the boss there.

Biggest pile of scraps yet, no fire going in the waste pit.

Went through town, talked to Gary, man that owns across the road. Brother to the landowner here.

Been waiting for Rick to ask Gary about a pickup trailer he's got if he would take $100 for it.

Stopped in town, talked to Gary, he said yes, I'll pay for it in a week.

Came home got the big GMC fired up, went over got trailer, came back home and added a chain to the trailer.

Added some air.......to tires.

Kinda bald but they looked OK.

Went over to sawmill, unhooked trailer back by the elevated track system they have set up to roll out the big stuff on a 4' X 8' rolling cart.
Unhooked trailer, pulled around front and filled back of pickup with hand stacked (solid) boards and scraps.

Hooked up trailer, loaded it.

Probably 1.5 cord or more.

Tire went flat on trailer about 1.5 miles from home. Called a buddy and he brought an air tank out 20 minutes later.

Bead seal broke. He left, jacked up trailer with tractor jack. Seemed to take air, as soon as down off jack it went flat again. Bead leak, dangit. Drove it home slow.

Trashed tire. Oh well!

Big load of wood is worth what I paid for trailer and cost of tire.

Now I have my own trailer that is bigger than Rick's and he can't give me guff about using his.

A great day overall but I am bushed and my knee is screaming.......my left leg gets really sore when weather changes....

Have a great week!

Keep prepping. Buy Bleach and latex gloves. And Learn how to make Ionic Silver. Rubber boots. Masks, filters.

You are going to need it.

Posted this on the Ebola thread addressing people's concerns over bugs.....

Bugs are my BIGGEST concern as it SPREADS across America.

I'm 'anal retentive' about mice and flies in my house.

I think flies landing on corpse or fluids and then on your person, desk, steering wheel of vehicle, doorknobs, toothbrush, dishes or foods at a meal.....

I think you get the idea of my concerns.

I spray the outside of my screen door and around the threshold of my entries to help keep bugs out.

Fly swatters in every room!

Hate Flies!

Always on the look out for signs of mice too.

Last single mouse was 2 years ago!!!

I live in the country. Place is sealed up real tight.

Rebuilt this old chicken coop. It's pretty comfortable and nice now.

Think about my concerns, the bugs. Get some Permethrin and some spray bottles as part of your preps.

Gotta remember to add this to my "Preppers" Thread.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{

Also, for chiggers and ticks. I pull up my pant legs exposing a couple inches of my socks. I spray that area, all around including any fabric on some boots.
Then I spray my legs and around my waist, if I'm gonna be in weeds that high.

I picked Black Berries for 3 days (couple hours each time as they ripened) and not a single tick or chigger bite.

I also wear a 'boonie cap' and a welding jacket, I lay the welding canvas jacket on the floor and everything gets a good wetting. Boonie cap gets sprayed.
I get sores the size of a dime up to a nickel from these bugs.

Shredded a good heavy pair of jeans 'bull dozing' paths into the small patch of berries I found. Nobody has ever picked it I think. Second picking I wore heavy jeans, long sleeve sweat shirt and full coveralls over those. No injuries!
Still picking thorns out of my knees from that first day.

The two large areas, one is 300 yards long and 100 wide with 30' round patches of plants all over and all down the perimeter, almost all looked dead this year.......
Usually 20-30 gallon comes out of those 2 big patches every year.

This year? 00.

Second tire on trailer was flat this morning.

Got 2 from Man next door, $10 apiece. He even broke down and mounted them for me.

Traded him 4 tires used that I saved from Marie's car.

Gave him 3 new flouescent bulbs too.

He just welded the ball area on Ricks wood trailer and we got it straightened out.

Rick and I had an argument in front of Neighbor and a man that lives in one of his houses that pays him in labor.....

I said that he has broken every promise he has ever made to me.......and a few other things that needed to be said...

In from of the other men. He does the same thing to them.

We'll save his soul yet!

A camel can pass through the eye of a needle.....

Back hurts......Ibuprophen and hang out here awhile.

I need to unload the trailer, sort, and unload truck.

Might go get one more......Might go to Ray's and install my new fabricated fuel cable on his Iveco truck.

We'll see. Might nap all day!

HAHA. What a busy few days you've had.

Drooling over the berries. You think you missed them this year, or think they didn't bear fruit, or think some critter found them before you, or???

Some fresh stinging nettle (should be easy to find right now) will help those aching places. If you use gloves or handle it carefully by the lower stem, just brush the leaves across the painful area. You'll be glad you did.

Thankful to have a dog that hates flies as much as I do, so if they get in, they never survive here over a couple minutes.

Maybe you need a day off, sipping tea, nursing your aches and appreciating all your work.

Rice and beans put in 2 liter pop bottles with oxygen absorbers. Very few tomatoes this year the striped beetles ate the leaves and the blooms. They may make more tomatoes this fall but we are supposed to have an early hard winter so may not get too many.

My biggest concern will be how to keep the basement dry if there is no electricity to run the sump pump and I can not afford to buy a generator.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
This is the calm before several storms go full blown retard.

Get the last of your stuff put up now.

what I am up to:

As this starts, stock up on NANO SILVER.
I've made one gallon of very concentrated so far, need to do more and get more one gallon glass jars for that.
Decided to use canning jars. Big loss if a gallon gets broken. Been saving Heineken beer bottles and caps. Would make a good "giveaway" portion.
Pints are often given away by me. Canning jars I have on hand, gallon glass is hard to come by.

Bleach. Save your juice bottles. Fill them, store with 5 drops of bleach.
I filter my water, even flouride filters, even on well water.

The friggen chem trail poisons are now very heavy in well water in the country side.

Flouride filter even in the shower.......

Canning 3 bushel of tomatoes, all day yesterday. Just about to stuff 6-7 gallons into quart jars. Added one quart of dried bell and banana peppers from 2 years ago, about a bushel worth.
15 semi hot banana peppers, not sure the name, fresh "Ambrosia" sweet corn, 20 ears.

67 quart jars washed, scrubbed, sterilized waiting on the table.

Another bushel of ripe maters outside waiting for the sun. Another bushel of green spread out on plywood and saw horses.

So this effort will last for days!

Filling jars and pressure cooking is next.

Lots of work but you won't be able to buy food of this quality, ever.

I have clover and alfalfa growing in the yard.

Dried Black berry unripe berries, been drying for 2 weeks in the green house with leaves and stems....
I'll shred that in a food processor and make anti-oxidant tea.
Picked over 4 gallon of Black Berries this year, 25 pints of Jam, 3 are jelly made from juice only. Maqde with unrefined brown sugar!

Merrow? I forget the name..big plants about 4' tall..seed stalks and 30 big leaves are about dry.

Very medicinal. Those will also be shredded for herbal teas.

Busy, busy.

Venison is next next month.

No food in grocery stores soon. Stock up.

Get your heating fuels in now. Propane is $1.69 right now in South West Missouri. Filling a 500 gallon tank and getting a second tank first of week.

Propane will hit $8 per gallon in January.

I think I mentioned someplace that I believe the Chem Trails poisons have accumulated to the point that the Berry plants are dying.

I'm serious when I say that the 2 big areas produce 25-30 gallon of berries just about every year.

The biggest most productive spot had virtually no plants this year. Old growth was even not to be seen.

The Aluminum Oxides in the spray are one of the most abundant and ruins the soil.

Feel pretty decent this morning.

I tend to over work myself on some days. As it gets colder you will recall that every injury you have ever had begins to give pain!

Returned Marie's college paintings to her yesterday.

I kept them for a while to make her understand the hurt you get when somebody takes things that are important to you.

She said just before she left that she realized that she didn't love me any more when she told me "why can't you let that go"
in front of a restaurant full of people. I was talking to the cook and mentioned my last wife took a stack 15" tall of cookbooks from my Mother and Grand Mother 'Nanny'.
I remember using one from Nanny at 3 years old.....

Those books were some of the very few keepsakes i got from my favorite passed away relatives.

I think she understands the lesson.

But I gave her favorite paintings back to her........

Returned my buddies air compressor too. I ended up replacing both tires on the trailer yesterday morning before i could unload, fun, fun. My next door neighbor is turning out to be one of the best neighbors I've ever had.
We did some trading for the truck tires he had and he even did the mounting for me. Cheap.
Gave him a pint of my Black Berry Jam to show my appreciation.

Went over to get wood from Amish. Only half a pickup load, darnit. But I wanted to leave paintings at Rie's Folk's house and return compressor too, all along same route.
Ray, Amish man who owns the sawmill and I had a good talk.
I really like those people.

Today? I dunno. Shoot a couple bows and maybe go to Ray Hall's and finish his Iveco Diesel truck cable project.
I like that rig! He wants me to replace the flat bed with new Oak from Amish and do a dump bed hydraulic setup.

Need to unload and sort my small load of wood.

Been up since 3 am. Went to bed at 9 pm. 6 hours is good for me.

Have a great day!

I installed the fuel cutoff cable in Ray's truck today. Works perfectly.

Looked over a rifle he has. It is Special.

Missing the rear open sight. I'll find one.

It also needs a scope.

Buy his book and he could afford one!

No wood today. 3 hours work at Ray's.

Looked over the sail boat again.
Gonna bring it home tomorrow.

I'll take the big GMC and tow it home.

Just what I needed! Another project!
