I have never seen so called comedians as funny or entertaining even when I was a child. They seemed very sad and ugly to me.

Clowns are all about deception to me. Even as a child I saw this.

They laugh at what they fear. They mock what they hold dear. And they make silly jokes at the ugliness of the world.

When in truth, they are living a nightmare...

People laugh at comedians so called humor while not seeing that the "joke" is really on them.

What seems so wrong to me is that the laughter from the audience is never sincere. It is about hate and ugliness. It is fake laughter.

Jim Carrey is a poster child for this sadness for me.

I could almost cry watching his so called humor. He tells the Truth in his acting in the movie, The Truman Show.

I think some comedians are funny, like Jerry Seinfeld, who doesn't ridicule anyone but others like Don Rickles are just mean bullies to me.

Stand up comedy is a dreadful art form.

People laugh because they are drunk, stoned or because they think they are supposed to. They laugh at hearing naughty words used in public.

The actual material is mostly devoid of humor. It is just shocking words and anecdotes, obscene observations.

It is a degenerate art form, applicable mostly to people with teenage outlooks on life, stoners.

all people who laugh at the sexual humor are basically buttheads and beavises. A whole country full of buttheads and beavises, who may not look like them but are like them.

what is even funny about sex? Do animals laugh about sex? Sex isn't funny at all, sex is ugly and disgusting and creates more hatred in the world than everything else combined.

All you see on these whores faces anymore is seething rage and contempt for anyone physically unattractive, or who doesn't look like they are rich and happy. Awful horrible cringeworthy medusa like hags is what all this 'comedy' has produced.

We have a "reptile" brain, and a "mammalian" brain.
The reptile brain is a cold, cruel survivor. The mammalian brain is more sophisticated, includes empathy, that makes us caring for our children, , just like mammals care for their offspring deeply and selflessly, and at some extent caring for others, just like mammals care for other members of the flock.
The two parts should be in balance, but this balance seems to be broken in the past 30-40 years.

We are watching TV or a movie or a standup comedian, and obediently follow the "laughing machine" the recorded "audience laugh" when it comes to someone else's misery.

I would say the same of comedians today...vulgar, sarcastic, racist, negative and rude. Not funny.

Yes, that is what society does to people.

People are evil, and the greatest tragedy will be that they will continue to ignore just what it is they/we are doing, until it is too late (which is almost is now).

have to agree. never liked clowns, hated so-called "childrens' shows", was embarrassed to be around stuff like that.

Some how, some of us know from early on.

Laughter is a great gift of life - hard to make a comedian's routine out of it.
