Ebola Doom put in it's place (finally some real reporting!)
Some actual reporting not fear mongering BS!

[link to www.theguardian.com]

A deadly disease is set to hit the shores of the US, UK and much of the rest of the northern hemisphere in the coming months. It will swamp our hospitals, lay millions low and by this time next year between 250,000 and 500,000 worldwide will be dead, thousands of them in the US and Britain.

Despite the best efforts of the medical profession, there’s no reliable cure, and no available vaccine offers effective protection for longer than a few months at a time.

If you’ve been paying attention to recent, terrifying headlines, you may assume the illness is the Ebola virus. Instead, the above description refers to seasonal flu – not swine or bird flu, but regular garden variety influenza.

Our fears about illness often bear little relation to our chances of falling victim to it, a phenomenon not helped by media coverage, which tends towards the novel and lurid rather than the particularly dangerous.

Re: Ebola Doom put in it's place (finally some real reporting!)
The problem is that the article's author is basing her analysis on flawed information, chiefly the assumption (based on the thoroughly discredited official line) that Ebola is 'difficult to catch' and not infectious during the incubation period.

Believe the Guardian article if you like, but it is ignoring the realities on the ground. The virus is not playing by the assumptions and rules that people, like the author of the Guardian article, are desperately wanting to believe.

Oh my god. Seriously, did you just say that? Yes. It is blowing up, worse than the flu. The official figures from Africa are meaningless because their systems, shaky at the best of times, are collapsing. Due to the incubation period of approx. 21 days things are panning out exactly like we would expect if we are to see millions, at least, infected by the end of this month.

I'm really not going to go through the way this is spreading, but there are plenty of posts on threads that explain it in detail. In a nutshell you have massively under-reported official figures, that are massively out-of-date (as in, even though figures may be published on a specific date, they are reflecting the situation days before), and you have a virus that is clearly spreading during the incubation period, and much easier than the authorities are admitting to. Add it all up, consider if just each infected gives in to two more people (and they have three weeks to do this before even knowing they are sick), and then factor in the highly mobile populations of the developed world, living in crowded urban areas, and you are looking at millions, if not billions infected within two months.

Why do so many come on here and spout complete untruths like its been proven to be airborne and contagious during incubation?

What everyone needs to consider is that if any of that were true we would have hundreds and soon thousands of people dying daily.

Ebola is definitely something to be taken seriously but lying for the sake of sensationalizing or fee mongering will do nothing but eventually put people at risk.

Fear mongering and superstitions are part of the reason Ebola in Africa has gotten so bad.

The spreading of truthful and helpful information is invaluable. All the lies though really need to cease.

Because it has been said that a virus is the most likely way for our population to be decimated. Ebola in particular has been mentioned by many professionals. This isn't the common flu that takes down the weak. This is ebola, and it kills the strong. They have always contained ebola with success. This time it has jumped borders and even continents. This is becoming a pandemic but it will take up to a year before we are fully aware as a species, that our time is coming to an end. Just wait till your kids school has it and they take your kids away to isolation camp. Good chance loved ones will disappear. There is a reason so many movies use ebola as the deadly outbreak. Because it is the most scary virus on this planet. This virus is no joke

What you have just said proves yet again that you don't understand the nature of what we are dealing with. All indicators are pointing to it being contagious during incubation, and the fact that you still don't understand the 'airborne' thing doesn't bode well for your IQ. It is not technically defined as 'airborne' but it is spread through the smallest of droplets. So if you are near someone who is infected it can indeed spread through the air.

You are the one peddling the lies, and you need to wake up.

One person infected 8 healthcare workers (Nigeria suspects) who then tended to other patients in the hospital.

If one person can infect 8, I feel like it is actually pretty contagious, maybe more than what they are leading on.

An investigative reporter, Jon Rappoport, was on C2C last night and had this to say about why so many health workers are getting sick and he claims it is not due to contracting Ebola.

[link to jonrappoport.wordpress.com]

Haven't decided yet if his claim could be valid but it's something to consider while we "wait & see".

Here's his main page with several other articles on Ebola.

If 60-90% of people who caught the flu actually died the human race would have died out a long time ago. But thats the mortality rate for ebola - 60-90% depending on which version you contract. The odds of getting ebola in the US or UK right now are miniscule.

Key phrase - "right now". Lets keep an eye on this so it stays that way. The virus has been spreading and doubling by the month. Slowly, but without faultering. Don't be the frog in the boiling pot. If that doesn't concern you then something is wrong with your instincts.
