Update: this was posted on August 1. Now we know how Obama Roulette ended Would you want Ebola patients at your child's university? Quoting: beeches the hospital is on Emory's campus. Emory has a special facility to handle individuals infected with BSL-4 agents. That's what it's designed to do. I'm less worried about that if they're using it for both patients, an earlier report I read said that "at least one" will use Emory's facility. That gave me a major WTF moment. |

In fact I'm pretty sure that is what they will do. |

They said that because apparently they are going to be flown in individually and possibly to different locations. The first will be going to Emory but they haven't announced where the second will be going. |

I don't care what they call the level, it is not enough. Well, that is what the facility was expressly designed for. If it were a CDC worker instead who accidentally infected himself in the lab, what would have them do? Not use the same facility for the same purpose? They should remain in Africa. I know I would want that if I were one of the two. Quoting: beechesI guess I just don't see an insurmountable difference between this and transporting an infected lab employee to the facility. As someone who has worked in labs myself, and as someone who once accidentally stuck himself with a needle in the lab, I know I wouldn't want to be given an immediate death sentence if I accidentally infected myself just because members of the public are worried it might spread even if a proper containment facility is used to quarantine me. Personally, I like the idea that we don't leave our people to die, as long as proper facilities are used. The disease is FAR, FAR more likely to spread to this country through other means such as air travel of infected persons who aren't aware of what they have and AREN'T in quarantine. |

If they're sending the other to some place not set up expressly to handle a BSL-4 infected person then that is a concern. They could send them to the Nebraska facility or USAMRIID but I haven't heard either of those locations mentioned at all, that is my only concern. |

They're going through Atlanta in a couple days? They should be dead by tomorrow, or maybe even today.. Doesn't make much sense.. Also, why not use a helicopter or something? Why drive them directly near the public??? |

This isn't about losing vials in the lab. This is a very high profile case and they are fully aware they can't afford to fuck it up. Americans lives are at stake. I'm sorry you're not concerned about giving the American doctors the best possible chance at survival, and perhaps I'm biased because of my own personal experience, but personally I'm glad they're not being left to die in Africa. America should be capable of handling this and bringing them back here. |

Update: this was posted on August 1. Now we know how Obama Roulette ended IMO Ebola may be an offshoot of the AIDS bio-weapon development. AIDS o conceived in the US o developed in the US and Africa o tested in the US o First large scale use US o Largest Deployment Project; Africa Small Pox "vaccinations" By 1976 AIDS was perfected and ready for deployment and that is about when Ebola showed up. This is nice to know because we know a LOT about protecting ourselves from AIDS. IMO this same protection may very well be helpful for Ebola. [link to healthyprotocols.com] |

I myself took some of the first hep-B vaccines available because I knew of 2 nursing students who were lost to hepatitis B. I might not do this today, decades later. Older, sadder, wiser. Update: this was posted on August 1. Now we know how Obama Roulette ended A Brief History Of Our Quarantine System A yellow fever outbreak led to the country's first quarantine center and hospital, set up in Philadelphia in 1799. In 1944, a new law gave the federal government the authority to quarantine people, a responsibility formally taken over by the CDC in 1967. In the 1970s, according to the CDC, the number of quarantine stations was reduced "from 55 to 8 because infectious diseases were thought to be a thing of the past." But within the past decade, fears of bioterrorism after September 11 and the 2003 SARS epidemic prompted the U.S. to more than double the number of quarantine stations. There are now 20 scattered across the U.S., primarily at "ports of entry and land-border crossings where international travelers arrive." [link to www.businessinsider.com] |
