(OP) User ID: 60775090 United States 08/01/2014 09:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dakar — Three quarters of those suffering from the deadly Ebola virus in a small town in northern Guinea have recovered, an unusually high proportion that is puzzling scientists and aid workers. The medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says that 16 of the 21 people suffering from Ebola who entered its treatment centre in Telimele made a full recovery, compared with only 20-40 percent of victims in Gueckedou, the epicentre of the virus in southern Guinea. [link to allafrica.com] ...and Liberia- Dr. Melvin Korkor, the first Liberian doctor from the Phebe Hospital in the Central Liberian town of Gbarnga, Bong County to have been tested positive of the deadly Ebola virus has survived. Dr. Korkor was confirmed positive about two weeks ago and transferred to Monrovia along with four nurses three of whom died in days upon arrival in Monrovia. The news of his survival came just at the time the death of one of the country's most senior doctors, Samuel Brisbane was being announced. Dr. Brisbane a former Chief Medical officer of the American run Firestone Rubber Plantation Hospital[WTF????] died in weeks after being tested positive of the Ebola virus, which he contracted at the State run John F. Kennedy Medical Center. (snip) According to the Administrator of the Foya Hospital, about fifteen persons have survived from the virus at the hospital, while others are said to be responding to treatment. Mr. Francis Fania stated that nurses at the hospital are using their training to assist Ebola victims. He added that while it is true there is no clear treatment of the deadly Ebola virus, there are other treatments and care that can be given to people who are just developing the virus and can survive. He however said, of late, there has been no new cases of Ebola in Kissi Teng. According to him, the isolation center is presently empty because there has been no new or suspected cases of Ebola. This, he attributed to the sensitisation and also sanitization being done by the Ministry of Health & Sanitation and it partners. The APC Councilor for Ward 10 in that area of Constituency 003, Mr. Emmanuel T. Sakilla said Plan Sierra Leone has provided them “veronica buckets” and Chlorine to wash their hands in order for them to be protected from the Ebola virus. He also confirmed that the situation is now calm and stable due to the awareness raising they have engaged themselves in within the chiefdom. He said in the intiial days “so many, many people” all around Koindu died because of lack of understanding about Ebola in that part of the country. [link to news.sl] |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 59297825 Ireland 08/01/2014 09:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WHY YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET EBOLA IN THE U.S.- Quoting: Hugh M Eye Responding to social media hysteria over ebola.... "This mystifies infectious disease experts, who consider the viruses that cause Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and bird flu much more contagious — and therefore more dangerous to the public. Tranmission of Ebola requires direct contact with an infected person’s blood, vomit or feces during the period that he or she is contagious, something that is extremely unlikely for anyone but health-care workers. The virus is not spread by coughing or sneezing. Nor do Americans bury their own dead family members or friends, as some residents of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea must do with Ebola victims. “There is zero danger to the U.S. public from these [two] cases or the Ebola outbreak in general,” said Amesh Adalja, a member of the public health committee of the Infectious Disease Society of America and an infectious disease doctor at the University of Pittsburgh." snip "....something that most Americans don’t realize: Lassa fever, another horrifying hemorrhagic disease that kills about 5,000 people in West Africa every year, has been imported into the United States by travelers seven times in recent years, with no known case of transmission." [link to www.washingtonpost.com] Wrong its already on its way to a town near you, The poor victims of ebola are an expierement in a lab for vaccines plus the really bad news is, they are a cover up for the news in a few days time that the Ebola is already in the usa and the will be blamed on them for the spread......... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 60605546 United States 08/01/2014 09:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 20,000 or more deaths in the United States alone attributed to the regular old flu season! Quoting: Hugh M Eye If you but take a little time this protocol will demonstrate the following. The CDC has CONTINUOUSLY overstated the mortality of seasonal influenza often by over 100 fold. For many decades the CDC told us each and every year that influenza killed 36,000 of us each year. They are NOW saying they have no idea how many die from the seasonal flu. We know it is less than 700/year for MOST years, perhaps MUCH less if based on serological results. Only slightly overstated figures from the UK imply less than 200/year die in the USA from influenza A or B. Based on serological results my guess is it is a mere handful. Well then, no link but think about this. From what I hear and read. Ebola patients have violent and uncontrollable diarrhea. Diarrhea from an Ebola patient can jet out the anus up to 17ft. To keep that in prospective, a $14 drunken binge of Taco Bell only jets out 3-5ft and you have some control over it. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |
