Electron do not carry a 'charge' per se' ...THEY DO NOT FORM IONS...and they do NOT exhibit electrostatic charges...they aren't noble gases either...BUT THEY DO HAVE OXIDATION NUMBERS AND THEY SHOULD ALWAYS FORM NEGATIVE IONS!

I agree with you in one way, science is not an explanation of anything--just an observation. We can explain how A + B = C but we can't really say why it is that way.

Anyway, I think the distinction that you seek is that "electrons" (or whatever those elusive things really) is somewhat measurable, and we can build industries off of it--predicting outcomes with small error margins--can't do that with fairies. ;)

LOL you tools, OP is right. Electrons don't exist in any way until they are observed, whatever that means. If they are not observed, they are simply waves of mathematical probability. And maybe that's all they are really.
