I like old Blossom, Amy Farrah Fowler but
it would be nice if she also had the plight of the Christians world wide undergoing genocide on her mind.

America and Christians that can't discern "Israel" support their right to exist, how about ours?

who needs a "sage oracle". A holocaust is occurring, again, just pointing it out to you.

Every two bit actor can voice an opinion though and be heard, while the deaths of millions are just yawned at. Meanwhile we must care for the "children" over running the borders, 6 billion for that. Laughable

Re: I like old Blossom, Amy Farrah Fowler but
Yes, Christians are having a hard time of it in many places in the world, particularly in the Muslim countries where it can be anywhere from dangerous to fatal to be a Christian.

China works them over periodically, but it is the Middle East that is the worst. And yes, it is true that the media does not give it the time of day.

Contemporary Christians don't seem to be awfully militant, I suppose because they have been convinced that legal/political channels are most appropriate. But I don't see either of those avenues being very helpful.

Maybe Christians need to be picketing embassies and consulates.

I think that people have been deliberatly spiritually desensitized in the past half century or so, to the extent that many younger people no longer know the difference between right and wrong, good and bad. It has been a multi-pronged approach, and pretty much world wide.

If you consider that in China Mao was killing millions to inject Communism into the Chinese through the Cultural Revolution simultaneous with the quieter but equally devastating cultural revolution here and in Europe, you will see that the major, influential cultures of the world have lost their spiritual foundations.

Respect for traditional cultural values has been systematically destroyed, religions have been weakened by social issues taking the place of Gospel or traditional creeds here, smothered by the regime there, love of money and pleasure seeking have replace the valuing of virtue in both cultures. Media and education have greased the skids.

India is probably in the same boat, much of South America is in the grips of socialist, atheist regimes.

So now that there are clueless 3 generations since the 60s, what can we expect? A culture cannot regenerate spiritual, cultural, ethical values like a lizard regrows a tail.

Where do we go from here? There are not many raw materials left, Pete.

I attend an Egyptian Christian church, which is also called the Coptic Orthodox Church.

all remnants and people fleeing from the persecution of Christians in Egypt and the muslime middle east.

They are not afraid. They have a small cross tattooed on the inside of their wrists. So when they shake hands and the sleeve falls back, anyone can see they are a Christian.

many have lost family to the violence.

yes, this is the answer. The Gospel is unchanged and needs to be preached unchanged, with all the power of the Holy Spirit within it. That is the only way It effects change. It's a proven.

The American "Christians" and those of other nations, from the 60s forward have been existing on the fumes of their parent's Christianity. Most of them are no more Christian than a dog is. They think since their parents were, they are, but they must be born again and have the power of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective.
They aren't even lukewarm Christians, they are no Christians at all.
The churches for the most part have joined up with the world and only preach what people demand to hear, that God is all love and rainbows and please-- no word of doctrine-- for they wont listen to it. They want to go to church to feel good, not to be convicted of sin.

The fault lies primarily with the churches and with the people in them who let false leaders come in and lead the flock astray. When the shepherd is a wolf the lambs perish.

I've never really understood the reason Christians hate the different sects of Christianity so much... It makes as much sense to me as the division between Christian, Muslim, and Jew... I'm not getting history from MP... It reminds me of what most Christians seem to be saying. And Catholics are as much Christians as protestants are. I've never really understood the reason Christians hate the different sects of Christianity so much... It makes as much sense to me as the division between Christian, Muslim, and Jew... You all worship the god of Abraham, but want to kill one another because the other guys are worshiping him the wrong way. Its 100% grade A idiocy of the highest order.

Well you've just admitted that you don't know what you are talking about and bible believing Christians have nothing in common with the RC. I don't know any Christians, or Jews either, that want to kill anybody.

Now I'll give you the Jews... They usually don't start a bunch of shit, but [link to www.godhatesfags.com] And you can say they aren't "Christians" all day long, but the fact of the matter is that they are.
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

5* OP for a good thread

thanks SR. I think it's a true spiritual disorder that people suffer from especially all those who cant discern a beast from the Spirit of God.
 Quoting: furPete'sSake

 Quoting: Lil Sis

Well there is still some raw materials left in the world capable of turning lead into gold.
There are stalwart souls who will stand up unafraid to speak out against abuses, such as are found in China, and now in America and all parts of the world.
God can put His Spirit in anyone He chooses.
I guess we just keep speaking out and if they come for us, they come. The servant is not above his master. At least we won't be caught picking our noses and scratching our butts at the tribunal, saying "we didn't know".
 Quoting: furPete'sSake

Yes, there are some, and God willing they can make enough noise that some of these Godless regimes back off. Our elected representatives for the most part are off doing something else/ I am apalled at the reports I am reading out of the Middle East and Africa. It is as if the Middle East is the Middle Ages...
