Comcast is in the throws of the last nail in the coffin, buying, time weiner, and from what I hear, they will be throttling down stream speeds and selling off the internet side to charter.

I'm so confused to whats happening in the world, I don't care anymore.

Actually I'm a CMTS engineer and its not BS. Maybe you should do some research yourself before you go blasting away at someone.

COMPLETELY untrue!!! Every modem has their own BPI security cert, just to get an IP. THEN you have a separate radius seesion. you have to go back to the CMTS if you even want to check the other modems traffic and even then only with an optical tap.

Once again untrue, not only do you bond to different channels on the CMTS but the RF leg from the node does not allow you to pul traffic from someones downstream. if you tried you would get nothing but noise ON TOP of that they have a different BPI and radius session.

Just got off the phone w/ them. I told them to turn it off or take deduct the rental from my bill forever. They turned it off but I'll still be buying my own router...just waiting to come across a good deal on one.

Negative. Its just a different ssid not ip. And op PLEASE do yourself a favor and just buy a Motorola SB6141 and a good 802.11N Dual Band Router. No more $8 rental fee, cleaner signal and higher throughput.

I recommend a TP-Link N600 btw. Very good router for the money.

Thats a D1.1 hack thats been patched on both Cisco and Arris boxes since SCE(Cisco) and 7.15 (Arris).

Since D2 DOCSIS uses and interleaver that smashes the packets and then pieces them back together. That why DOCSIS is the only routing protocol that actually reformat and pick up lost packets.

Now that we are on D3 you couldn't even guess which channel the traffic will be on, even if you could your would get noise. leaving you with garbage in and garbage out.

Next there is no way to get the BPI cert with a spoofed MAC anymore because you need to get the file from BACC, so without having the modem on billing and being sent to ONLY that modem, the certs won't match.

I do this for a living man I was the one who helped design the MAC Cloning kill script getting the pirates off the line.

I do this for a living too man I am also a security consultant and one of my clients happens to be comcast as well as many others. I didn't say you didn't know what you are talking about so why would you me? There is alot available out there privately to sniff packets on all sorts or networks. Go tell Snowden he can'r sniff your packet and see what he tells you. New tech everyday to bypass security.

Thanks to your thread I went to best buy last night and bought the Motorola surfboard eXtreme. It's the best one on the market and can't wait to drop off the rented router piece of crap back to comcast!!! I should've done this a LONG TIME AGO!!! They matched amazons price of $213 so I saved a couple bucks. Installation was a breeze and it works amazingly all throughout my home

I do, market penetration is at 17% for network 26% in my region and 29% in my market. once again I said this is a D1.1 issue. D1.1 has been killed in all comcast markets.

If this was possible the the LRC wouldn't exist and the feds could tap anyone without having access to our hubs. The encryption is the reason they need to come into the hub to do it via optical tap.

Your spouting misinformation and repeatedly telling me its true, when I know for a fact it isn't. You would need access to the OTN/HUB/HE to get on the CMTS and then you would still need to program the optical tap to the modem mac address, thats why they need 2 different warrants for phone and modem because the eMTA has multiples.

I'm really doubting his claim to work for Comcast. If he does it has to be something along the lines of line tech that isn't customer facing nor very technical.

They scrambled my local channels I was getting

Strongarming me into buying basic cable package

they can ram it up their ass

I was being charged for it

and I would like the free digital adapter to descramble the channels

spent 20 minutes on phone only to have an indian man send me to a office that was closed

i will be canceling tomorrow

You can order a DTA via your account online. The reason they did away is because analog channels take up more space in the RF spectrum. Getting them to digital allows for more channels available for your modem = faster internet.

They don't just ask you to get new equipment and take things away for no reason, billions are dropped into infrastructure every year.
