Hi there, nope: in the night, is usually far away from the North Star on the Northern Sky.

Its visible on the low horizon from the North-East to South-East.

I dunno, I'm colorblind so I didn't even see the colors mentioned, but I do know you have to track any object you look at through a telescope because of Earth's rotation, even the Moon.

There were clouds last night, but I will look it up tonight using Google sky map.
