Anonymous Coward User ID: 59123032 United States 07/20/2014 02:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It has nothing to do with seeing anything, the original poster in this thread keeps insisting that Helena was abducted in the final scene, for example: At the end it's ironic how Alice tells bill were awake now, when that is actually furthest from the truth, as they lose their daughter as she was abducted. If Bill was awake he would of taken the Red Priests threats to his family seriously and not let her wonder around a crowded Toy Store alone, especially after telling his wife everything breaking the agreement nod he gave the Red Priest. You've missed the space between the lines. No biggie. Child abductions do seem to be something that people talk about with government and Bohemian Grove type stuff. I just posted the ending scene, would you point to what there is in the dialogue or anything else that would make someone believe that Helena was abducted? And it is a "biggie" because the original poster of this thread would have zero credibility in my opinion if there's no evidence for his theory that Helena was abducted. It would basically destroy this thread for me. |

There isn't a hint that Helena is abducted, I don't get it. I just forced myself to re-watch that scene of hackneyed dialogue and corny acting, that's no great ending, it's stupid. Possibly it was emblematic of the inanity of their lives? Anyway, there is nothing in the background and nothing in the dialogue that points to Helena being abducted. I hope the original poster will answer this because the whole thread will be ruined for me if this isn't cleared up. |

You have to watch it with a fine tooth comb, with an open mind... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58380056 Everything you think you believe about the illuminati is wrong, a kind of charade , the whole movie is a fake. Eyes wide shut is a movie where 99.9% will never understand unless they are guided or watch it 100X times as I have frame by frame! Kubrick completely figured out the illuminati, and he blew the whistle, while predicting his own death, putting it all on Film. This is the work of a great man. If you think the movie is about a secret society sex cult you are wrong. If you think its only about about marriage and infidelity you are only seeing 0.1% of the story. The actual story is beautiful. It's a blue print, a modern day bible and guide book for those who are awake enough to read it. I can help you solve the puzzle, but you have to be ready to walk through the door. If you believe in shape shifters they are in the movie also Just another sick movie like “A Clockwork Orange”. I'm sure it would have been a lot different than the Spielberg version. We can only wonder how it would have different. |

I don't agree with you. I don't think Eyes Wide Shut glorified evil, I think it gave people an honest look at it. The Tom Cruise character is portrayed as a good man with good intentions that is tempted by evil. He makes bad choices that potentially ruin his life. I don't see anything sick in the movie, what specifically do you think is sick? On the surface, I see lame dialogue, a weak detective story, and vanilla sex. The "Illuminati" stuff isn't any revelation, anyone who does any real research on the Skull and Bones society at Yale will quickly find far creepier and scarier stuff than anything in Eyes Wide Shut. On a symbolic level, I think there is a lot of meaning but I don't see anything sick there either. |

I for one think it's a very enjoyable activity! I absolutely understand why hate, violence, murder, theft, kidnapping, treachery and that sort of stuff are evil, but I cannot possibly understand why some would put sex in the same category. Of course, it's not cool to cheat on your spouse/gf/bf, but if your partner is ok with an open relationship then I don't consider it to be adultery any more, since there is no broken trust. Thoughts? |

But, we never see her engaged in sex (she's always clothed so there's no evidence she was even having sex at all) and that whole thing could have been another test/trap for the Tom Cruise character. With this kind of movie, we can question if that was even the man's daughter at all. I can't think of anything else I'd call sick. Quoting: WETHEYYOUITHEMUS look.i agree that it would be fucked up for a man to do that with his daughter.i am saying..if that is all you recall of that movie..uhh.what is up with you. You're arguing both sides of that issue. I try not to waste my time with people that doublethink. ok |

I for one think it's a very enjoyable activity! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2788446 I absolutely understand why hate, violence, murder, theft, kidnapping, treachery and that sort of stuff are evil, but I cannot possibly understand why some would put sex in the same category. Of course, it's not cool to cheat on your spouse/gf/bf, but if your partner is ok with an open relationship then I don't consider it to be adultery any more, since there is no broken trust. Thoughts? There's a lot of prostitution in the movie so a lot of people think that's evil. Like I mentioned earlier, I think the scenes in the costume shop which involve prostitution by the way are sick and evil myself. There are people who take the orgy scene to be satanic but there's not even a hint that it's actually satanic in my opinion. It could be a religious cult but that's debatable. Christians are typically anti-sex in my experience. There are threads like the following on this site that will give you a glimpse into the puritanical view of Christians towards sex: Thread: Is pornography evil? |
