I'm a hobbyist knifemaker and it doesn't take much to get started....I made my first knife all by hand tools....a hack saw to cut knife blank, a file to make bevel, and hardening/tempering with a one firebrick forge powered by a propane torch....

Its a scandi grind knife made of O1 steel and scrap piece of maple for handle...I still use this knife 7yrs later....
