Warning...Exploding Glass Tables!!

So then have enough sense before you buy shitty stuff. The good metal tables are worth saving for. They don't explode. Why would you ever want to have a glass top table at all?

I just realized that I've got enough subconcious sense that all my tables inside and out are wood or metal.

Having a glass table anywhere is like asking for trouble.

but find em used for cheap or free...

Kentucky was once a tobacco field... so they are all over this state.

I'll try to find some. I'm in a state, though, where if someone even says tobacco, they're about ready to throw a net on you and stick you on a glue trap in confinement, lol!

What is your oven door made with? What about your shower doors, if you have glass shower doors? What about your microwave? What about skylights in that building you're walking into and it's over your head? What about walking between tall buildings in a city and you look up and start counting all the windows which are made from the same tempered glass?

You know what I find interesting about this whole exploding table thing? The government puts stupid warning labels on everything you buy but glass tables.

Every electronic product comes with a "may cause shock" warning. Food products read, this was processed in a plant that has peanuts. Kids toys read, "may cause choking" etc.

But glass tables are spontaneously exploding and not one peep from the government peeps.

I don't care about most of their warning stickers because anyone with one ounce of common sense knows not to use a hair dryer in the bathtub. But most people would never think that a glass table or shower door would just shatter without any sort of impact.

I guess I'm just stupid..I should have known that tempered glass breaks on its own for no reason.

So, Lesson learned. Buy wood or plastic products. Glass breaks when you least expect it.

You are right about warnings on everything, I mean even take-out coffee cups have warnings for HOT on them.

Wood and metal tables can be preserved and painted for a very long time.

Sounds like temperature difference. Maybe the cold drink on hot glass? Part of the glass in the sun vs in shade?

I could tell it was crap right away. Thin glass. And that outer rim of resin or plastic burns your elbows in hot sun. U can never put your am on it,

This rests my case on shopping at cheap places for big items. There's a reason it's cheap. They buy off the black market. Damaged goods, stuff people discovered was no good and it needs to be gotten rid of. Stuff thst fell off a truck in an accident.

One time I was broiling asparagus is a pyrex baking dish and it exploded in the oven.

And I was just about to open the door to check on it.

It shatterd totally. It could have been in my eyes. I had to vacuum the oven of the glass. This is why we now roast asparagus on a baking sheet. True story.

I can not say the glass is cheap made or cheap materials used to make it.

I took a hammer to a pebble/rain glass door yesterday evening and tapped it twice or three times.
The shower door never did anything but make a sound of being tapped by a claw hammer.

The shower door had been out side for over 5 years in all seasons. The shower door was not expensive and common door from Lowe's.


Plenty other glass tests and experiences I have had outside and inside and no I have not found the glass to be a problem.

I have found the pressure in our environment to be a huge problem in VA mountains and in NC the same near the coast there.

The same in a nearby section of TN.
It is like a heat dome half the time arid pressurized sickening and not the norm in our area.

With a swing to pressurized with high humidity minus rain.
The humidity is pressurized as well rusting grills and venting in the house and outside the house, in no time at all.

Water condensation on the floors and inside of the house.
Ruining vinyl wall coverings and ceilings of sheet rock work.

Seals breaking down in double glass doors and windows with water running even down the inside of the glasses.

My husband works out side for a living has for 47 years.
He is dark skinned and has a high tolerance to heat and sun.

I would complain to him the sun is stinging me and he fobbed me off as complaining on heat or sun.

I have no skin color.

He is complaining of being stung by the sun. He has not gotten any sun burn and does not need one for the sun to sting him.

It stings him through his clothing work clothing and his hair and beard.

My aunt and her husband said they thought it was just their location near the coast, where the change was hitting them as well.
She said they could not even work out side but had to bring in the wood to cut it in the house.

Due to the sun stinging them through hair and clothing.
Their floors are being ruined in their home it is coming up off their floors.

Others are complaining about it on the jobs even at their houses same thing.

We have lived a long time and in a many homes while keeping this same old one.

We have never experienced what is happening in our areas.

It has steady gotten worse for a few years now but really bad last year and this year.

The house sounds like their is something living running through the walls and ceilings.
Like vines growing through them crawling through them.

Yet there is nothing in them only pressure.

The difference in feet even up 1-2 miles range is a drastic difference.
If you were not 1 mile further you would never believe the radical extreme difference.

It will make you very sick and ruin your skin.
Not only are we getting skin cancer but our animals are getting skin cancer as well.

Way to much damage way to fast and way to sudden of a come on to be fobbed off on any global warming scape goat.

I think it is due to military or some other form of experiment.

I would have laughed at that suggestion just 2 years ago.

Several days ago I threw a hammer straight through a house window and the hammer broke through the glass and now it has to be replaced.

I got a 40 year old glass top table that's built like a tank. So heavy it takes three people to carry the glass. It was drop on it's edge once and it just chipped off a small piece of glass from the edge. Don't make'em like they use too.

My wife bought a glass patio table that did that.

She was pissed!

It's a fault of the tempering. I bought two crystal looking goblets from a thrift store. They felt sturdy. Both of them exploded withing 6 months of using them to drink soda from. It was pretty frightening the first time it happened.

Thanks for sending all those Chinese glass patio tables to the USA. Paybacks are a bitch.
