The Catholic Church doesn't tithe. You give what you can give. They simulate tithing by sending you envelopes every month with your name and address on them to put in the collection basket but most people don't use them. They've started two collections now, most only give to one and most have stopped giving a lot of money. Rome has apparently said the Catholic Church in the USA is on it's own. Ergo with donations down and all those lawsuits to pay out, they've been selling property. The people of the church have no say in this and it gets them angry. People leave massive estates to the church. The church uses them for mass and retreats and then suddenly, out of the blue, you discover they sold them to developers. They never asked the faithful. So you assume it's a developer that got the property for less.

I don't hate anyone & not a Christian. Just helping remove the thin veneer of lies to reveal the evil. If you believe this institution is good after a long documented history of abusing people and protecting abusers if you think its good that's your choice. You will answer to those it abused.

This is just normal catholic doctrine, and it is correct. Jesus Christ built a Church and told people to commune with their fellows. He didn't tell people to talk to the voices in their head.

Pope Francis described as "dangerous" the temptation to believe that one can have "a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ without communion with and the mediation of the church.



Time is short and his above comment establishes the fact that NOT one stone will be left upon another...

Of course he said didn't say forbidden, why would he do that, it's not the Dark Ages. Wouldn't even make any sense. Without a church you might be misled, with the Catholic Church being misled is a guarantee.

I know you guys don't want to hear it, but the relationship you have with Jesus, separated from the Church, is like admiring someone from afar and imagining would it would be like to be with them.
A Christian can't be a Christian in isolation from others,
'for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them'.
Prayer, of course, is best as a continual practice, alone, and with others.

but but.... the pope is god incarnate on earth, yes?
