Nothing will stop Obama but the democrat party, but I despair that there are any real Americans left in that party.

Nothing will change the outcome of this primary unless it is done by the Republican party, but I really don't think there are any Americans in the republican party either...

From what I am reading he didn't even want to run for office again, but he was forced to by family and other republican. Haley Barbour is up to his corrupt neck in this too...

So what this pastor really did was tell politicians across the country that if you are going to buy voted from the black community then you better pay up or we will out you.

I had the displeasure of hearing Haley Barbour speak and it was enough to turn my stomach. It was all about letting go of moral and ethical principles and making sure candidates had an "R" beside their name, purity be damned. IMO, he represents everything wrong with the elitist snobs that are anything but conservative.

"Walking Around Money" is a tactic that is as old as the hills in US elections. BOTH parties have used that tactic for years.

Those who are the recipients of the money generally have an ability to swing votes of a specific voter type, usually ethnic - which can be Black, but can also be Polish, Irish, Serbian etc, which they do via a variety of ways.

The sums sent for "Walking Around Money" are usually listed on the Federal and State Campaign Finance Reports as "Consulting Fees" since that is the service the recipients of the fees provide ... they consult with the campaign as to the best tactic to use to attract a very specific subset of the electorate, maybe Polish voters in Detroit only - or even just one neighborhood of them, and also then create a ground swell of work by others (often paying for it) back in that very localized community (usually a small subset of part a major city).

Usually it is NOT based upon a payment for votes obtained ... but I have heard a LOT of tales over the years where the pricing was set to be for "performance" ... which sounds like this case.

Most outside of the political realm are totally unaware of this OLD characteristic of major campaigns, but I can assure you that BOTH parties used this tactic during the last Presidential Election ... but it ONLY works where the underlying targeted electorate is swayable by, or at least somewhat neutral towards, the candidate who is spending the money (ie: Republicans would have had a hard time making it work in the Black community in the last two Presidential elections).

The amounts spend for "Walking Around Money" by both parties can actually be fairly stupendous at times.

I'm not sure how often it goes on in other states, but there's nothing but voter fraud in Mississippi. It's insane.

Last year there was voter intimidation charges in a small town north of Jackson. Then in Hattiesburg they redid the mayoral election because someone "left the door unlocked to town hall the night of the election and the cleaning crew found the vault with the affidavit votes"
