Not usually, but if he was left alone for a few minutes, yes. Most children will cry at length until they are comforted. So people are wondering why no one heard him crying?? So many questions left to be answered!

Maybe the dad was getting high in the car?

My youngest does, and cries and screams the whole ride. This is why I drink.

I don't know enough of the background of the family to make that kind of a determination, all I DO know is that this man is a monster.

I'm all for father son activities, but that's taking it too far. Though, I do remember having a sip of whiskey with my Dad, in the car, after a day of hunting...

I am in Atlanta and this is the latest I have heard:

1) Yes, dad's computer showed the damning internet searches on how long it takes an animal to die in a hot car.

2) They are still waiting on toxicology results on the kid's body. These results take longer to come back than simple autopsy results. They apparently have reason to suspect the kid may have been drugged or sedated, which could explain why he wasn't crying or raising hell when left in the car seat.

3) People who know the family are saying that Cooper (the kid) was very bright and sweet with advanced verbal and social skills. So, it doesn't sound like it was an "escape plan" from a special needs kid.

This guy is just a fucking psychopath/sociopath.

I just cannot wrap my mind around this...

I was also very suspicious that the child may have been drugged or sedated. It fits the facts so far as we know them; and also that they are waiting for toxicology. But I suppose it is a matter of course in these situations, so it may reveal nothing as well. Any day now there will be more info.

I can tell you the only logical conclusion based on the evidence. He either couldn't it didn't want to pay for daycare that day and hopes he could just leave his baby in the car for his shift and it would be alright. He did the google searches trying to determine if he could leave the baby in the car. He went to check on the baby at lunch, baby was ok. He gets off work and baby is dad. That's why so frantic with CPR, he feels like shit and can't believe he didn't just take kid to daycare.

Just look at that man's face and eyes.

He probably didn't intentionally kill the kid, but he still needs to be put down...he's obviously either stupid or evil, so either way we don't need him on this Earth...on another note, I taught my youngest son three languages on our long morning commutes to daycare after the bitch run off. I also taught him traffic signals and street names...

I don't know Brief. There's also reporting of conflicting stories that he gave to 1st responders and then to the police. I'm starting to think this wasn't the happy family as thought. Look up Mary and Matthew Winkler. Sometimes we just don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

Plus if indeed it was confirmed 100% accidental I'm sure some sort of bail would have been set! even an enormous amount, a million dollars or more, but he's being held without bond. That makes me think authorities aren't convinced it was an accident.

Brief, I've had my differences with you but that is truly brilliant. You should be the Chief High Executioner in these parts. Frankly I never believe these "I forgot the baby" stories - how the hell do you "forget" your baby? A lot of people want to kill their children for various reasons alas, we shouldn't give them any cover.

Yup, I've seen this - where a mom had gone into a store and left the toddler in the SUV and the kid starts screaming and crying for mom after a few minutes. One of us went over to comfort the kid (the window was open some) and the other went to find mom. It's very scary for them to be left alone like that and no adult there and also it gets hot faster than people think. But I'm sorry...I don't believe these stories about people who "forget" their baby in the car. I just don't believe you can forget the most important thing in your life - and at some point pretty quick you'd remember even if the kid was asleep.

This POS wanted to kill his kid, terrible way to die. Alas, many people want to kill their kids for various reasons and I think we have to execute them. Even if it's an alleged "accident" people have to be more careful and not have these "accidents". There are many ways of creating "accidents" when you want to get rid of someone. Like it's a shame grandma joked on those Tic Tacs (when she's not supposed to be eating small foods). Putting a cord or something on the stairs when someone who can't see well comes down and then removing it afterwards.

There's a lot of ways to kill vulnerable people, esp children and old people. We need to be wary and suspicious.

I hate to say it, but the same thought popped into my mind. There shouldn't BE any insurance on children. Just a small amount to cover funeral expenses and it should ALL be used to pay for funeral expenses. But insurance on children should be very very limited as it's tempting for evil people.

I agree. If a caring parent really wants to, then invest in a trust fund that only the child can access at an adult age. I've even know funeral home s and churches to cover burial costs of a child. If you're that broke, then don't have kids.

On that same note though, I think it's bullshit for life insurance to not pay out on suicides.

If you're that hung up and desperate that you would kill yourself for the life insurance money, then by god the beneficiaries deserve that money.
