ICELANDIC NOTES:-
PRE-MATCH COMMENTS: Both Holland AND Chile have already qualified (on 6 points each) to go to the knockout stage so it is expected to be a game where the coaches of their respective teams choose to rest key players and blood new ones. There's no doubt that both teams have been playing inspired football, so the main point of interest will be to see (or predict!) which one is the better of the two...

FIRST HALF: Kinda' ho-hum in my opinion. It is an end-to-end game, but not of the fast-paced, white knuckle kind. I wasn't expecting the kind of play we've seen from both sides in their previous two matches given that absolutely nothing is at stake. Sloppy finishing from some Holland forwards. Chile rarely threatened at the other end.

SECOND HALF: A better game in this second half with chances being created by both sides. Holland, however, being the better side now, with Norwich player and Holland substitute Leroy Fer scoring a great goal from a header in the 77' minute to make it 1-0 to the orange men!
Chile desperately searching for a reply straight away as they go forwards in defiance, however it's Holland's Memphis Depay who makes it 2-0 to the Dutch with a well-timed tap-in from a pass in the Chilean box.
Entertaining second half, overall.
