Christine Paschild, PSU’s university archivist, said she was wandering around the warehouse one day and "noticed a bunch of cardboard boxes labeled ‘reel-to-reel.’”

What Paschild found was an incredible collection of speeches, including Oregon senator Wayne Morse predicting devastating casualties from the Vietnam war, Nobel prize-winner Linus Pauling warning of birth defects from nuclear testing, and novelist Toni Morrison speaking on racism.

---The very large database, arranged by year. From Portland State University Library. [link to pdxscholar.library.pdx.edu] A link to the Robert Kennedy speech March 1968. [link to pdxscholar.library.pdx.edu]

I'm not going to make this thread about the archived links. But this one is interesting. American chemist and double Nobel Prize winner, Linus Carl Pauling, waring us about radioactive fallout and birth defects from nuke testing. This was in Spring 1962.

Keep in mind the recording is and bit more then an hour long, but its great quality. I'll admit I didn't listen to it all. after about 20min I bounced around a bit. Then I listened to the last 15min.

Also, Linus Carl Pauling is a very interesting man. If you don't know, you should Google him. He was an important man in the 20th century.

Vitamin C

You know what Linus Carl Pauling was about. Well he was about many, many ideas. I'm not way read up on it. But I'd just assume vitamins as supplemental form was controversial in the 1st half of the 20th century.
