I fear it may be something related to her hysterectomy. She had a bit of a hard time moving around due to pain when she visited us. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 43960798 United States 06/09/2014 12:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh my goodness... First I would just like to say how much this thread just cheered me up after my ordeal. Each and everyone of you are so sweet. Thank you so much for all the support and love I just read on this thread. As some of you may know I had an abdominal hysterectomy about a month and a half ago. I have still not been feeling better after all this time. I have been to so many Dr. apts. and er visits and all anyone would tell me is I should be feeling better by now. I kept telling them I wasn't, but nobody could give me a true explanation. Only opinion. Anyways I was visiting a friend today with my girls and when we were just about to leave I was closing the hatchback of my car and right as I gave it that extra push to close it, something burst in my incision and a ton of fluid came rushing out. *infection* sorry for the ickyness. I went right to the emergency room and when the Dr. came in he was quite shocked at the amount of "fluid" that had come out of my incision that he started having nurses prep me for emergency surgery. * I was sobbing. He grabbed the on call obgyn and she came in to evaluate my situation. She started pushing around on the infection and about 5 minutes later 2 tiny internal absorbable staples popped out. Thank god!!! The surgery was diverted and the incision was cleaned and pack with a cloth packing material. I have a bad infection so she drew a line with a shape around the inflamed area to make sure the infection is getting better and not worse. I'm sooooooooooo glad I did not need another surgery. But what I want to know is... How come the damn Dr's. along time ago not figure this out. I kept telling them I was not getting better and their only response was that I should be better by now. Tomorrow I have an apt with the original surgeon and lets just say I'm gonna have a few things to say to him. Not mean or anything, just something to effect of. Next time instead of telling a patient they should be feeling better. Listen to what your patient is telling and try to find out what the problem is. *Not your personal opinion. So glad this is over. Watch... I betting now I'm going to have a miracle recovery in the next 48 hours. I love you all and thanks for all of your sunshine you poured on me tonight! |

LOL AC 2378 ... you're just about right on that one. LMD - SO SO glad you are on the mend. =) And you are right, the original surgeon does need to know that the patients do know what they are feeling and to listen to them. Otherwise, they may end up with a major malpractice lawsuit on their hands one day because they didn't listen to a patient. |
