How many of you fellow GLP'ers live in a city with a lot of obvious homeless or panhandlers??

They're not obvious in my city.

They dress like bankers, hobos, or politicians.

It's hard to tell who's who after the pods hatched.

For the area I live in now in PA, there are quite a few.

But I am from Long Beach CA so I am used to seeing them everywhere there

Plenty here in San Diego - but they have to lay low a lot because in some areas they get more police harassment - and a lot of them are obvious tweakers since this is tweaker central along with a lot of other parts of Calif

The ones that get aggressive are the worst

Orange County, CA here & yes I have TONS of them. Mostly schizo, junky & weirdo types. There's a tent city 2 blocks away.

I don't know why the US doesn't take care of their own. In the UK if your unemployed the gov pays rent and if you are homeless they have to house you.

1 out of 6 men 25 to 54 are unemployed.

Thats nearly 20 percent.

It is only going to get worse.

I have a also seen panhandlers get in their shiny new car and drive off

OC is the divert County for homeless .
Some city's are the dumping grounds Irvine and some south county city's are not allowed. Ship them to Santa Ana , Anaheim , Buena park etc.
Majority in So Cal is in down town LA and long beach.
LA coroner scoops about one deceased homless up on average per week I heard.

And yes, up here on the Washington coast near the Canadian border, plenty of homeless and transients, it gets pretty sketchy sometimes, they come in waves, lots of drug addicts.

I probably see around 15 a day in Central CA

It's pretty bad down here in Southern Oregon.

Nashville, TN. Estimates are 8000-12000. I don't see how that's even possible. Bottom line there is little to no housing left for the poor, gentrification has taken over so rapidly even people with money are forced out.

I'm forced out by age. I really feel it now when I stand next to one of these 20 somethings in line. They are all dolled up in the incredible clothes and hairstyles by 7 am, it's very intimidating.

I live in what used to be a bohemian student area with lots of crap room rentals for bums to share, one used to be called the hole and would rent for a couple hundred a month. Now its been converted to a regular apartments.

With all the bearders these days
