Anonymous Coward User ID: 4613981 United States 05/14/2014 06:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe it's just me, but that dog seemed a bit predatory in seeking that kid out and attacking like that... Quoting: Too Dark Park I agree. As much as I love animals, I think this dog should be put down. There was no provocation on the child's part. It looks like the dog was on the hunt, and found it's prey.Gut feeling tells me this dog will attack again. As for the cat, there is no doubt that he saved the child from further injury or even death. This cat should be eating premium cat food, salmon, or whatever it likes the best, for the rest of it's life. Hero Kitty !!! I agree but wth was the Mom thinking ????? I would have immediately picked my baby up ! Not walk around the bloody car. That cat would get the best meals for life =) |

Quoting: Too Dark Park The surveillance video shows the boy playing on his bicycle when a dog sneaks up behind him and grabs his leg. The family's cat, named Tara, rushes the attacking dog and chased it away. Video at link: [link to www.theindychannel.com] All a bit to bizarre firstly : the child is too big for this bike secondly : dogs are curious and like to protect children doing unusual activities thirdly : did the dog just not try and pull the child off the bike. 4: cats are great and very protective and might sense situations differently than dogs. They seems to sense to protect young people or infants more and have an inbuilt reaction to situations 5: mother approached too fast 6: mother left child....'not normal' |

So kids outgrow toys fast that doesn't mean they stop playing with them. 2nd - family dogs like to protect their human pack members. This kid was not in that dogs pack. 3rd - The dog was viciously shaking his head as pulled the boy off the bike. The wounds on the boys legs prove it wasn't a playful tug. 4th - True 5th - She probably wished she had approached faster. Scared mother runs to protect her child. Seems logical to me. 6th - mother reacted to dog coming around the front side of car to attack her son again by trying to chase it away from her son. This is a very normal reaction even in the wild animal world. The mother will try to chase it away. She probably should have jerked her son up and put him on the hood of the car first, but who knows how you will react in a similar situation. As I understand it she got bit, as well. The dog should be humanely destroyed. I remember reading about an island tribe far removed from modern day society and they had more sense than to keep that dog alive. When asked why none of their dogs were aggressive. They said that any dog that bit a human in their tribe became supper that night, hence they bred out aggression in their pets. |
