Norris geyser basin is a must see. Smoking Mountain is an area where gasses seep from the side of a mountain. You will notice the yellow rock (yellowstone gets its name from it) which is rhyolite and it forms from volcanic forces. The Grand Teton Mountains to the south are fault block mountains. They are still going up and the valley, Jackson Hole, is going down. You will still see evidence of the 1988 fire everywhere you look. There are areas of burned trees, still standing upright even though they are dead around the park. Eagles like to nest in them.
