(OP) User ID: 57786995 United States 05/06/2014 08:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | SK, I would really love to get involved in your threads, but there's just too much stuff. Can you, could you please, put a little synopsis post after you do the big, luxurious one? Just for those of us who have busy lives, but still want to be totally informed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47825582 Thanks in advance for your help! ...Like have a "Cliff Notes" edition? lol! CLIFF NOTES As for this thread: 2 videos from credible sources are warning about an up-coming U.S.A. weather "event" much on the same lines as the late April early May one we saw in the central and Southern States. Suspicious Observers and Dutchsince are the two main sources I have used. Their videos are fairly short if you have the time. S.O. reports that there is a very concentrated and tightly formed "deep low" in the central U.S. and it may gain energy and strength from a "convergence" of hot and cold air masses. He is giving a "heads-up" for a weather "event" beginning on Wednesday in the mid-west and continuing from there. My BEEF with "Readydotgov" video was that they didn't go far enough in warning people who wish to assemble a "bug-out-bag" to be sure to take that kit to their STORM CELLAR or basement...and NOT TO THEIR CARS! From the videos I've found researching this and a previous thread, it appears that most people are just immediately JUMPING INTO THEIR CARS TO SHELTER or to join the traffic-jam on the freeways where they are stuck in traffic when the tornado hits! We are looking for this next "him-icane" (*on-land hurricane coined by Jim McCanney of jmccanneyscience.com) may last into the weekend, especially if expected CME from the huge coronal Hole erupts late this week! And...just tried to really bring-home the message to NOT USE A CAR AS A STORM SHELTER. That's it! Sorry you didn't have time for the whole thread... I thought it was pretty cool! SK |

User ID: 55418682 United States 05/06/2014 08:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would do nothing because I don't believe it. Tornado Alley is anywhere it is possible for a tornado to develope and grow, not just a figurative place on the map, even though it still has a lot more tornados than anywhere else. A tornado doesn't care if it is in Kansas, or Montana. Sorry. Quoting: 071676 I don't believe anything from any government weather bureau. Last winter they said that our winter was going to be warm and dry. I froze my ass and had more snow dumped on me than any other time in my life. Their gobal warming was freezing my ass off. I do tend to accept the "Farmers Almanac". They have tended to be a lot more accurate than any government forecast. Guess I should have made it more clear. This thread and the stuff that I generally talk about regarding weather is off "alternative news" and NOT the "weather bureau!" Prolly my fault if that is misleading. The weather reports from Suspicious Observer is based on leading-edge theories on sun/earth/space related interaction and NOT on "old school" weather based on "global warming" lies. In fact, Suspicious Observer just went to a recent convention where a brand-new solar-weather model was proposed and he is going with this--you can check out his utube channel for that one! He will always put up the sun pictures for the day--and THIS WEEK WE HAVE ONE HELLOFA CORONAL HOLE at the south pole of the sun (see video on Intro paragraph!) If the sun goes "off" it ALSO will add "fuel" to this current weather warning model and all bets are off! And...just so you understand. The reason why they named that particular area of the country "tornado alley" it is because historically it has the most violent number of tornado events. They didn't just pull the "tornado alley" label out of their ass. How do you come up with this "a tornado doesn't care what area of the country it is in..." idea? Astonishing!! "That comment is...astonishing, dude... just astonishing!" Thanks for the post, tho! SK I am sorry for my belated responce. A tornado doesn't care who, what, when or where it hits. I lived for years in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where tornados never form, and yet we had one. Where I live now got hit last year, though it was across the street. My property suffered no damage at all. Granted, a tornado has no physical manifestions that would allow it to ever gain intelligent thought, so it would be impossible for it to care or not. Much like the need to label other storms, hurricanes, blizzards, and such, trying to give them a more personal feel, doing the same for tornados would only be the next progression. I have yet to understand the need for a human presence at naming storms, but since I have never been asked, I only follow that which is given. How many times have you ever heard some weather forecaster talking about some storm not knowing which way it wants to go? I just except this as a license to do the same. |

Of course you have to be watching TV or listening to your weather radio to get the news. If you're on the road at the time, you might get in a bad place with no where to escape. That's what happened to a lot of folks on I40 last week. |

Quoting: Settle4It This! Even in Tornado Alley, by far and away, the vast majority of the people are not directly in the path of anything. Relocation can mean going from frying pan into the fire with some other problems. Stay alert during bad weather. O.K. While you are correct in saying that "relocation can mean going from frying pan into the fire with some other problems....you shouldn't let the fear of this outcome stop you! (How many people in Detroit fear this outcome...so they stay until the street lights are going off and the pizza delivery guy refuses to deliver your dinner?) I've experienced relocation a few times in my life (...survived Detroit for god's sake!) Had to move away from Mt. St. Helens and a couple other earth-changes related situations. ...But the biggest difficulty was the FEAR facing that first step out of my "comfort zone!" It was also scarey taking the 5th and 1,000th step...but we put that one foot in front of the other...and we made it! If you plan wisely, get yourself enough savings to live at least a full year at subsistence level, and buff up your courage chances are you will be fine in a new situation. This means relocation for most is at least 3 to 5 years out--which means you need to start planning and saving NOW if you are serious about bettering your situation AWAY FROM AN AREA experiencing extreme "earth changes!" These changes are REAL and they are life-threatening. (Maybe not right this minute--but in 3 to 5 years you can bet your butt you'll wish you had listened to your "gut.") You don't have to go around singing "Everything is Broken"...and become a nihilist--just wake up and smell the coffee and self-empower! I would NEVER suggest someone just jump in their car with their 1 suitcase, your dog or cat and a single paycheck to attempt to relocate. You could do that back in the day when the park system hadn't failed and "camping out" was an option. But even THAT was no picnic! First things first. START SAVING your money!
