I don't know you guys but life is better if you share it with a dog. and now I'm dogless now I feel very bad really. :( You feed your dog corn and meat by-product that is so nutritionally devoid it needs nutrients added to it in order to classify as "food". Wild parrots eat wholesome fruits, seeds, and nuts. You probably eat like shit compared to parrots, too. The dog was 17 yrs. old. He was obviously very well cared for. Still, on a diet of raw, cannabis fed poultry meat minced with cannabis buds, that dog could have lived a lot longer. Just stop. |

No one ever puts a pet down without feeling guilt and regret afterwards so don't go there. You did best thing for him...and he was a very lucky to have you rescue him when his owner died. Some just end up alone and scared in a shelter...so kudos to you. I think the best way to honor your pet is to save another from a shelter in memory. As for your question...they live just long enough to teach us that life is short so love with all your heart, forgive quickly, live in the moment and never forget that play is an important thing. |

I'm sorry for your loss. you see when it happens you wish you can do more for them but the later we ended prolonging their suffer. My mother's dog got bone Infection and I spend a lot of money and couldn't save her. I know we take to much time and maker suffer more than the necessary before put her to sleep. I had to do that to my two doggies just a month apart this winter. One was a month away from 20 and the other one was 17. Heart wrenching. Now it's just me and the parrot who will probably outlive me. |

Yes I always have big dogs, but when I move to NY I have to get medium size, I started with scotch terrier, then carien terrier, and when I move back here, the mother of a friend die and this little dog ended from house to house so I adopted it because gets along with my gringo carien terrier. It was 7 years ago, he was 10 but very smart, learn from my dog to wait for me out side the super and other tricks, and when my gringo die he became my shadow, it was so small that fits in my back pack. we go together everywhere Enki was the real engineer of the human race.
