I was going to post this thread but you beat me to it.

Let me weigh in.

I think it was a terrible, fucked up thing that this guy did.

Put her in an awful position - having to choose to terminate the pregnancy that she never consented to, that she took steps to prevent, in order to go on with her life as she saw fit, minus one insane dude.

That being said, it seems like a bit of a double standard to me.

How many women trap guys into relationships by doing the same thing, or not taking their pills. You don't see them ending up on sex offender registries.

Or what about the ones of lie about the paternity of their kids or fake pregnancies for financial/emotional gain?

My husband paid over 4 years of child support, plus medical expenses, for a child that ended up not being his that belonged to his ex-girlfriend.

He always paid child support, but she wanted to get on welfare, and when the state gets involved, they want to garnish wages and start micro-managing the situation. Anyway, as part of the Office of Recovery Services involvement process, my husband was offered the chance for a paternity test. Now, he had NEVER questioned that he was the little girl's dad, but the state had implemented a new policy that regardless of the outcome of the test, he would not have to pay for it to be conducted, so he was like "What the hell?"

Long story short, he was not the father.

He was spared 14+ additional years of child support, but in order to be off the hook for the rest of this kids upbringing and have his name removed from her birth certificate (a revoking of the Voluntary Declaration of Paternity he had signed when she was born) the state insisted that he waive his right to recover any of the money he had paid to her mom for her upbringing up until that point.

Where is the equality in that?

This woman extorted my husband for almost half both financially and emotionally for the care of a child that wasn't his, and not only did she not face any criminal penalties for her entrapping behavior, we were legally prohibited from going after her civilly for all of the cash we paid to raise some random sperm donor's kid.

If we are going to start calling men sex offenders for poking holes in condoms, we need to start going after all of the conniving, manipulative, lying women who do the same things or worse to men.

It either has to go both ways or be left alone, IMO.

Men are the sexual aggressors anyhow it's in their biology. The sperm swims up to the egg and burrows itself in.

There are bigger problems than this that you overlooked. Either your husband was an absent father and had no relationship with the child, or he is heartless bastard that just dumped the kid he was raising as his child since birth.

By the time my son was 4, there would be no way in hell, I would stop being his father even if I wasn't biologically. He already had my heart. And I would have never abandoned him.

My girlfriend and I are struggling to have another kid. If it isn't successful, we will adopt. I won't be the biological father, but I will love that child no less for it.

Oh and, regarding my son. He is now almost 12. His mother and I divorced, and I have primary custody. His mother gets him one day a week and every other weekend.

She was repeatedly unfaithful in our marriage. I could have gotten a paternity test as well, but you know what? It didn't matter to me.

The child's biological mother was a manipulative bitch.

She took the kid to another state shortly after she was born and constantly did everything she could to keep my husband out of her life - all she wanted was the money.

We did the best we could with the situation, but I won't lie, as devastated as he was when he found out he wasn't the dad I was thrilled to never have to deal with that psychopath again - it was one of the happiest days of my life.

And not being her biological father meant that he no longer had any legal standing to see her.

There was no legal recourse for us, he wasn't her dad. That bitch screwed us out of tens of thousands of dollars and then never let him see the little girl again.

We have two kids that are biologically ours and we have had guardianship over several other children over the course of our relationship (we always manage to take in stray kids LOL) and we have BOTH loved all of our children as much as if they were born to us. I fully recognize that biology does not make a family, there's a lot more to it than that.

My point is that women get away with far worse than poking holes in condoms all the time.

This guy in Canada is now going to be a registered sex offender for doing what many women call a Friday night, and it's an unfair double standard.

The best thing people can do is to not have sex unless they are willing to support a child because kids happen despite the best attempts not to have them. But people are mainly stupid and logic hardly ever works with them.
