We are One Headline away from No Gold or Silver Availability

Imagine waking up one morning to any of the following headlines:

“27 Russian Soldiers killed, 108 wounded in firefight with Ukrainians; Russia retaliates by Bombing Military Bases Throughout Ukraine”

“Chinese Navy Sinks 3 Japanese Naval Vessels during Invasion of the Senkaku Islands”

“Russians and Chinese flood Bond Market with over $500 billion in U.S. Treasuries Crashing Market; President declares a Bank Holiday”

“Israel attacks Iran Destroying 12 Nuclear Facilities; Hezbollah launches 1000 Rockets into Israel in Retaliation, Tel Aviv Hit”

The panic that would ensue overnight would overwhelm financial markets around the world yet any one of those headlines may be fiction now but is based on a truly frightening possible reality in America’s near future. The liabilities of our nation far outweigh our ability to pay the bills or function should a crisis begin, much less begin a prolonged conventional war with a major power when our country is already technically bankrupt.

Thus the problem the individual faces should any one of those or other drastic events or variations occur; what if that individual wakes up after reading or watching the news of these horrific events is that of a man or woman who says “I wish I had, I should’ve, I could’ve, but I didn’t prepare.” The reality is the first instinct will be to go to the grocery store where a frenzy is well underway with the sheeple in full blown panic. Then that person would proceed around the corner only to see this sign:

The real panic sets in when that hapless soul proceeds to the nearest ATM to find the display flashing “Out of Money/Out of Order” then driving to the nearest bank branch only to see a sign they are closed with hundreds of angry customers pounding on the doors. As Mr. WouldaCouldaShoulda heads home, he logs into his computer and begins calling precious metals dealers he remembers hearing on local radio commercials during his favorite talk shows. When he finally gets through to speak to a representative after hours of busy signals, he blurts out in panic, “I’ll buy anything you have at any price, I just need it sent overnight now!” The representative kindly replies in an exhausted voice that they have no gold, no silver, no junk silver, no bullion, no foreign precious metals, nothing in stock. The rep then proceeds to explain that he can place a provisional order but the last price they can quote war 500% above yesterday’s closing price and may go even higher depending on America’s involvement in the conflict or if the President does not ban the physical sale of gold or silver outright.
