Buy your seeds from a place you trust to be non GMO. We use Bountiful Gardens in northern CA. Make your own compost instead of using store bought stuff. We've got a worm farm on order to help out.

At least that makes it somewhat safer... it's not perfect, but until the Lord comes again for his beloved, it may be the best we can hope for.
