Thread: Just worked a 12 hour shift in a kitchen tell me why this life is worth living. Continued. I was moved out of the kitchen and have become a sort of hybrid. I'm a runner/kitchen assistant/prep cook. More of my talents are being utilized. I was feeling kind of down again though. Pissed at the world. Mad at myself for wasting all this time. Then, it hit me all of a sudden. All of the people around me are great people. There's live music playing that I actually enjoy. There's good real homemade food all around me. Real recipes. Not frozen shit. Best chicken tenders I've ever eaten. My boss loves me. I get to taste test amazing things. I get to take home massive amounts of food too. I enjoy everything I'm doing now and I'm already becoming friends with everyone there. I remembered that life is great again. Thank God. Good for you, there are a hell of a lot worse jobs than kitchens. Though dish washer is pretty terrible if that is where you were stuck. I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. - HST |

Quoting: Raoulduke No there's an old guy washing dishes. The only washing I do is at the end of the night when I help this 16 year old kid do all the big stuff. The first night they had me just in the kitchen helping but there was nothing for me to do. I just felt in the way and got yelled at for not doing enough. They threw me in with no training whatsoever. Today though, I just hung out with the waitresses and they took care of me like I was their son. I enjoyed it. |
