Just worked a 12 hour shift in a kitchen tell me why this life is worth living.
I work all day, come home, and all I read is horrifying things about the world. I'm making almost no money. How is 12 hours possibly worth $90? My time is worth more than that.

Why should I give my time away for money that has no backing, so that the powers at be can just ass ram me forever? Why aren't we fighting back? Why are we killing ourselves slowly with shit jobs?

No matter how much I meditate, how much fun I attempt to have, it always comes back around to remembering that oh yeah, we're living in hell on Earth RIGHT NOW.

Do SOMETHING ELSE then, asshole.

It's never gonna work for you just to be angsty all the time.

Yeah life sucks and is hard, but you can make it better on yourself if you are smart about it, sacrifice your time/energy wisely, and work to get what you want.

You can either find a way to succeed in the system, or you can retreat and go live in a hut on a warm island somewhere. Just a one way ticket, and your own survival abilities. Try it out or STFU.

"This too shall pass."

Just remember that this is not how it will always be. There will come a time when you look back upon this time and feel grateful that you made it through it. You will get your just rewards, you just have to hang in there during the tough times so that you can be there when the good times come your way.

It all sucks...but you and your spirit does not.

Hang in there. You are not alone even though it feels that way. I've put my thought into Jesus.
I've stored up my goodness in his warehouse. Along with yours.

This world is EVIL and you are part of the light.
NEVER forget that...if the enemy ever makes us forget that we are gone.!

I Love you for your faithfulness. Hang in there!

While I agree with and relate to some of what you said, I must point out that practically everyone on earth thinks their time is special and somehow should be worth more than they are paid. Unfortunately, there are 7 billion+ people on earth who are competing for resources (usually purchased with money). Due to the existence of markets, no matter how convoluted or corrupt they may be, this means the compensation for your time is based on what other people with similar skills are paid.

So in simple terms, if you think you're worth more, get off your ass and get an education (or continue your education), take some training courses, or figure out other ways to make yourself more marketable to an employer.

Well often when you depose a power and become the new power you become the very same power that you hate.

Ultimately, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. What I mean is that if the tables were turned and you were the rich guy you'd do the same things. It's a lesson you must or you will repeat the past.

Are you just in a shitty kitchen? What are you doing there? I fucking love being a chef, I get to experiment and put art on a plate to impress people with my talents. No being stuck behind a desk, no paper work, little PC bullshit, and interesting co workers. There are downfalls as there are with any job, and of course it would be awesome to not have to be a debt slave, but until there is a way to not do that there are not many jobs I would rather have.

op, you are providing nourishment to your fellow man. Do so with care and attention to detail and take pride in doing useful, honest work. Perform your tasks with passion for excellence and other opportunities will usually arise.

Many people participate in many dishonorable professions preying on the weak and ignorant, and jeopardize the health of their souls and sanity chasing money, power and fame. Don't envy these fools in their madness.

Re: Just worked a 12 hour shift in a kitchen tell me why this life is worth living.
Cliche as it sounds God will establish you. I know for a fact God is real.(I wont speak about this online)

And yes a kitchen is a shit job, but if you turn your life over to Almighty God. People will be doing your dishes someday.

What's the point of a victory if you never suffer? What's the point of living an easy life if you never grow?

If you were Rich you would be miserable beyond comprehension and you would feel scummy because of how easy you have it when others suffer.

Being poor is fun bro, you can do whatever, say whatever and you are your own man.

Your issue isn't the dishes. Your lonely.

If your heart is open, accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and make him your Lord and Savior.

Then from that point on you have a personal relationship with God. Miracles will happen.

Here is a recent example.

I asked for a woman with multiple points.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

And the very next day I met her. She wasn't the one but God was proving his power to manipulate circumstance in my favor.

All you have to do is ask.

That being said type up some resumes and drop them off everywhere. From the local radio station to the post office.

You might get lucky. If life has taught me anything it's that managers don't care about higher education. They want balls.

Its taxing especially when you work in a busy place. You are on your feet the whole time, maybe not running or walking that much but constantly physically doing something as fast as you can, lifting decent amounts of weight, and having to stay focused on multiple things (what you have cooking, what needs to go down next, who else do I have a spare second to help, what orders are being called out, ect). Its also hot as fuck, which is the worst part, but you get used to that and a trip to the walk in fridge is glorious. There is also the cut, burn, general injury risk, sadly I will never be a hand model for rolex thanks to knives and hot stuff.

But there is something very zen to the challenge of it, in the middle of a crazy night when you are just locked into the zone for hours on end. Assuming its going well its almost like a dance and can be pretty euphoric. My chef in culinary school taught us to think of it as a game and you are trying to win said game. If you get to a head/ sous chef rank and your creativity is what is being sold all this gets even more rewarding because it is your passion people are buying and enjoying.

Of course there are things that can ruin that and make it more of a task (they are called waitresses and customers), but overall if there is a positive attitude in the kitchen its an enjoyable environment. I laugh and have a good time with the people around me almost constantly at my job and I have not experienced that in any other field.

I may just be weird, but there are not many better moments then celebrating with friends you have just conquered something with, and that is the general feeling after a dinner service that you collectively just killed.

We live in a plutocracy this means those who have money make the rules. In English your 90$ is all the people high up (banks investors etc) have decided your worth in that specific task. You cant do much to fight em other than going into business yourself.

The reason we arent fighting back is obvious none of our cultures are warrior cultures any longer where the ruler of the land feared every single day that the army he lead, or his people might turn on him in a heart beat.

Todays goverment does not fear its people, hence why we are where we are.
