Are people in Oklahoma just hearing booms or also feeling quakes? Just curious because USGS is reporting quakes pretty much daily it seems..

The way I read it, he did say he doubted the cryoseism explanation because he doesn't think it's been cold enough. Sorry for not providing you with useful info! Keep up the work!

Last I heard, he was waiting for the thaw to see if the booms continue. Although myself and many others have told him it's been happening for at least the past year during all seasons.

Extremely interesting description. Just minutes before I read this post, I was telling my husband that I had heard something here in Wichita, KS, early this morning while he was sleeping and I didn't want to sound hysterical or anything but that it did sound like a vehicle backfiring or something similar, but the difference being the apartment shook, so I wasn't so sure that was what it was I was hearing. It's interesting that you have described it sounding like some sort of a vehicle because that is what I heard only I wasn't so sure it was vehicular in nature.

my house didn't shake really but hard to tell its 4000sq ft and brick but I thought holy shit something crashed on or near it, I'm sorry its so hard to describe its not quite like the earthquake I felt in Edmond its loud and scary as hell to me:D

We had one last week here in Stillwater. Thought that a pump jack had exploded.

As for fracking, They haven't been doing much of that because of the frozen ponds and they have to pipe the water above ground to get it to the wellsite. So, unless there is a delay of a couple of weeks between the frac and the boom there probably isn't a relationship between the two. The earth is angry my friends and she's rattling her cage. At my house if feels like when a roller coaster hooks onto the chain that takes it to the top. A sudden jolt followed by minor shaking for 15 seconds or so.

Now plot those quakes on either side of the line drawn on the map...we know the faults can extend as discussed by Jack Reed in SC, and possibly into OK as well.
